I watch snippets while I'm getting ready for work. It's pretty much crap after 7:30 am, LOL. My dad watched a lot of it when he was sick. He liked to make fun of Hoda and Kathie Lee.
I watch it - but mostly because it's what is on when I am at the gym, so when I work from home, I watch it, too. And yes, I do think that Savannah and Natalie have a very similar look going on.
It's definitely a strange mix of news and other random stories they pull together.
I watch parts of it every weekday. It is on when I eat breakfast, and I leave it on until I leave the house about 45 minutes later. I loved it a lot more when Meredith was on it.
If I'm home on a weekday holiday or whatever, I watch hour 4 (Kathie Lee & Hoda). It is genius.
And no, you aren't the only one who can't tell them apart, but I have really, really bad facial recognition.
I used to watch this any time I was home in the morning, but as time has gone on, it's become more and more fluff and I can barely even stand to have it on as background noise.
The only time they have any real news is between 7 and 7:30 and then it's just about all fluff after that.
I keep it on most mornings. It's background noise and I watch a few segments if and when something sounds interesting. It's definitely not a sit and watch type show. And it's not news.
I'm very close to switching to another morning show :-( But I haven't found one I like -- I don't like anything too serious. GMA doesn't grab me. (The incredibly hilarious) Greg Kelly left Good Day New York, so that isn't an option anymore. CBS This Morning is too awful.

This is me. And Savannah and Natalie also sound alike.
I like listening to the first 30 minutes of the show, but I had to leave for work earleir when we switched office locations just over a year ago. So now I leave for work before it even comes on.
I became a GMA convert after I figured out how awful Ann Curry was. At least the anchors on GMA look like they're having fun and have some chemistry together. Even more so when my beloved Robin Roberts is there.

I used to watch Good Day New York but stopped when Greg Kelly left. Now I watch GMA.
For me, the big problem with this show is that they drag segments on FOREVER. When I was off work 2 weeks ago visiting my family my dad had it on, and they had that "Gangnum Style" singer on. I swear we watched it for an hour or more and they kept teasing that he was going to perform and then we ended up turning it off before they ever got that far. That's annoying, I don't want to watch your show for 3 hours to see the 5 minutes that I want to see. I get that's exactly why they do it, but I wonder how effective that concept is in today's world where you could just go on YouTube if you really wanted to see him perform and there is too much else going on to sit for hours waiting for a segment.
Also, I'm impressed with anyone who has time to watch TV before work. I'm lucky to leave the house fully clothed and get to work on time.
I started watching during the Olympics and still watch most mornings as it keeps me awake while I feed the baby. I agree the first hour is better than the rest.
I watch during commercials and when Today goes to local news at the end. But if you think the Today show is bad, multily by 1000. That is Canadian morning. I like the channel with 24 hour headlines in one corner, weather in the other, traffic, and then in one small corner - the crazy cohosts.
bucky, I'd add to your vent that they really, really, really need to stop hanging on every "viral video" trend (for instance, Gangnum Style and Call Me Maybe)

I was raised on TDS and still watch it every morning while I'm getting ready, but I will agree it's become more eye roll-worthy over time. Our local NBC affiliate cuts off Hoda and Kathy Lee and switches to Live with Kelly, so when I'm not at school I don't have to listen to their ridiculousness.
I don't know that I would switch, though, because I feel emotionally invested in Al and Matt, lol.

I'm pretty sure that Live with Kelly is on different networks-it was on FOX in Dallas.
I like the Today show but it's the same segments repeated over and over. And in Denver they cut to some stupid local news show that features platic surgeons, etc at 10 so K&H don't come on until 11.

I love The Today Show. I find Matt Lauer (sp) very attractive. Odd I know. I don't watch it past 7:30 or so because it's just fluff and Natalie annoys me.
I do like holiday shows with Hoda and Kathy Lee though. Those ladies kill me.

I'm a GMA watcher.
When we lived overseas on a military base we got GMA Life ( even though it was 2pm there) so I grew up watching it. I tried the Today show but couldn't get into. I can't stand Matt Lauer.

Sorry, a colleague walked into Starbucks so I couldn't GBCN....
I know, it's weird! The first time they did it I thought the dog had stepped on the remote and changed the channel, but nope. They cut off the last hour of TDS and show Live!.
I don't know how they work around the fact that it's a different station, but I'm grateful to not be subjected to KL and Hoda, because if I were I'd change the channel myself.
