I'm a make-up minimalist. Usually I just wear mascara and blush, and sometimes a little high lighter and a lip stain or gloss. I will occasionally do a full face, but not often. I use to also do my eyebrows because I'm blonde, but recently had Combo Brows done and it was a great decision, I love my brows. The girl who did my brows also does Lip Blushing and I'm considering it. I was considering getting filler because my top lip is pretty thin and she said that she can actually overline my lips when doing the blushing to give my upper lip a fuller appearance. I'm wondering if anyone else has done this and what you can tell me about your experience.
I have not done lip blushing, but I do get lip filler and a lip flip 2-3 times year. My injector recommended I use restylane kysse, which is super natural feeling and also naturally pinks up my lips a bit. I love the way it looks.

I donāt have this specific experience but since itās a tattoo, youāre going to have to have the procedure done many times over the years if you want to keep it looking nice. It may fade to nearly unnoticeable after many years, but it will may never completely go away, since itās still a tattoo even a āsemi permanentā one. (I learned about the falsities of semi permanent with hair dye. Oooof)
My hair stylist had it done. I couldnāt really tell a huge difference and she said it hurt like hell. She liked it but hers faded over 6 months. She was not pleased.

I actually just got had my first session done! I had powder brow and lash line done last year so itās something Iāve been considering but wanted a specific artist who specializes in lip.
Obviously everyone is different but I would rate it a 2-3 on a pain scale of 1-10 (with numbing cream). And Iām not great with pain or anything lol. The swelling really wasnāt bad for me at all. Some swelling afterward and the color was bright but by the next day the swelling was really minimal. My lips only peeled 1 day ā¦ I think day 3. I was prepared for much worse.
The first session was really creating some more definition of my shape, correcting a little asymmetry and color correcting my natural color. (I actually had never really noticed but the artist pointed out that the outer part/sides of my lower lip were darker and sort of made them disappear. So I donāt see a big difference color-wise, slightly more pink now. She said the second session weāll perfect the color. I want it to be natural so I donāt plan on anything very pigmented.
I just wanted to come back and update this post in case anyone else was considering getting this done.
I mentioned it in the weekend randoms, but I got lip blushing done on Friday. The paid was really not that bad. She used a numbing cream and I'd say for the most part the pain was a 3 out of 10. There were a couple of spots that got up to a 5, but they were short lived. The initial swelling was pretty crazy, but went down pretty quickly. By the next morning, so less than 24hrs later, the swelling was completely gone. The color I went with is very pretty, but I think I'm going to go a little bit darker at my touch up knowing that the color will fade significantly. I'm about 72hrs post-procedure and the worst part right now is just how insanely dry my lips are. Otherwise the healing process so far has been pretty easy.
For anyone considering getting this done, my advice is to really research the person. My SIL had her lips done the same day as me, and she is a lot less happy with the results. It sounds like her person wasn't nearly as thorough with communication ahead of time, didn't share a lot in the way of before and after pictures or showing the colors on an actual person, and overall she just had a very different experience than I did. I was already very familiar with my persons work because I follow her on social media, but this is definitely one of those things that you get what you pay for, and if every shop is charging $500-$600 and you go to the place that only charges $250, you are probably not going to be happy with the final product.
