What is the most random purchase you have made that has brought you so much unexpected joy?
Mine: The pickle fork that I bought during Amazon Prime Days thanks to TikTok user catben. It makes it so easy to grab a quick pickle out of the fridge without dirtying another fork.
This post brought to you by my wine-fueled pickle eating just now. Lol
A soft pretzel and soda every time I go to Sam’s Club without my kids. It’s the silliest thing, and is a total of $2.05, but I call it my self-care soft pretzel. Something about strolling the aisles with my snack and not needing to share is magical.

DD is 15. A sams club trip for me is bringing her with me. Giving her $5 and she can get a pizza, a drink, and either two churros or a frozen yogurt and sit with her book while I shop solo and that’s dinner! Such joy!

I love when I pick out a book, toy or outfit that my kids or my nephews love. I feel like I “won” the holiday, lol. I got my youngest nephew a set of recycling truck jammies for his 2nd birthday and he reacted similarly to a middle-aged father whose six-figure mortgage has been paid off as a gift.
The Body Shop Advent Calendar - not really random as I buy it every year, but it brings me so much joy to look forward to it throughout the season, then when it’s delivered I put it on display on my dresser and just enjoy looking at it until Dec. 1 when I can start opening it.

My son got a doll stroller when he was about 2 at the big family Chanukah celebration. He was so in love with it that he refused to open a single other gift and just puttered around the rest of the evening with the stroller. It's so amazing to see the little kid joy at presents.
There's a pottery studio that we went to a few times and met the couple who ran it. Their pottery is just amazing and very different from anything else out there. We've bought a few pieces over the years and I just really love looking at everything I've gotten from there.
I would love to get more but I think we've run out places to put it.

Any time I buy a new lipstick. They may all be within the narrow window of pink/peach that I usually wear, but every time I put a new one on, I look in the mirror and think, “Who’s that girl???” with a mental hair flip.

Sam’s Club hot pretzels are my all time favorite hot pretzels. Mine local club has been out of them the last several times I’ve gone, and it always bums me out.
I made a bunch of tiny pots last year to test a new clay, and the only thing I could really see putting in them were tiny succulents- so I ordered some rootless cuttings (I spent maybe 10 dollars and got 12 different clips) last March. They were so itty bitty! I just threw some succulent mix in the pots, plopped the cuttings in them, and bam- it's September and I have a succulent army. Several are outgrowing their tiny pots, so I'm in the process of replacing them- and I have a bunch of little babies (grown from fallen off leaves during shipment) to stick into the little pots. They are really fun little plants!
Anything house related, but I really, really love buying new seasonal decor. I spent way too much money last weekend at Home Goods and Home Sense buying candles and a few pieces of fall decor and it just made me so happy to bring it all home and then start decorating for fall.

Every year I buy the "good" christmas wrapping paper from Sams Club. I probably only use a third of it but each year I look forward to picking out a new roll with a new pattern. Probably my favorite $10 spent each year. I give last year's roll to my sister who thinks I'm nuts lol.
I bought my dog a 20" carrot (not including the leaves) squeaky stuffie at Home Goods this weekend. She fucking loves it and is just so adorable bringing it all over the house. Everyone cracks up when we toss it to her and she athletically leaps to catch it. Well worth the $7!

I recently started counted cross-stitch again after a 20+ year break. I went to the store I used to frequent and it brought so much joy picking out patterns, floss and fabric.

As odd is this sounds I am obsessed with my girls mini yoto player (My 12 year old and my 5 year old has them). I just bought them the cards for Chronicles of Narnia-I can't wait until they come so I can listen with them.
We are a BIG audiobook family.
But yeah, it brings me so much joy even though it is supposed to be up to the age of 12.
A couple weeks ago I found 2 light fixtures at ReStore. I love interior design and am playing the long game in our house between finding deals (looove second hand shopping) and planning renovations. I’ve had two specific, and different, styles in mind for these lights and found them both the same day. Every time I turn on those lights it make me so happy.

My bissell spot cleaner. I spot cleaned my entire couch and removed all of these annoying stains. I also did my stairs (we have stair mats on our stairs bc Dutch stairs) and got out all of my husband’s annoying coffee stains. How can one human spill so much coffee? Everything looks so clean and new and my nesting instincts are so happy haha.
I bought a “skirtini” from Target this summer and I love it. It’s a skirted swim suit bottom, but it’s short, so I don’t feel like it’s a mom suit (nothing wrong with those!). Even my 13 yo said it was really cute.
The reason it brings me so much joy is that I don’t have to worry about shaving or razor burn.
They don’t have the exact one I got online anymore, but it’s similar to this, a bit shorter with no slit and black.
