Sat - ran 3 mi while my younger daughter biked with me. We also went to cheer on family at our first cyclocross event and it was super fun to watch. Sun - Helped pull invasive weeds for Girl Scouts Love State Parks and then I facilitated getting my kids to swim and a bike track. I did 65 mins on the gym bike, and actually felt like falling asleep while I was doing that, which was a little unusual. Trying to rally right now for a run before the day gets too far away from me.
I joined a gym last week to start getting in some strength classes because all I do is run and bike. I went to my first class Thursday (bodypump) and was pretty much crippled for the remainder of the weekend. I guess one shouldn't go from zero squats to hundreds with barbells overnight lol. I did manage a very slow and painful 3.5 mile run on Saturday.
brooke77 - so exciting! Have you run Chicago before?

Fri: 3 mile run + 30 min strength Sat: 20 mile outdoor bike Sun: unplanned rest. Was hoping to sneak in a workout, but we were at kids sports from 9am - 9pm save for an hour for dinner.
scm1011 - I haven’t! I’ve wanted to for years and almost did in 2019, but had to defer because I had a bad asthma flare-up. Deferred to 2020, which got cancelled. I’ve heard it’s a great course, so I’m super excited to finally get to run it!

Enjoy!! I've heard nothing but great things!
I keep hoping I'll get back in every year. I was all set to run in 2017 but woke up at 3am with a horrible stomach bug. Spent the day listening to the race outside my hotel while vomiting every 15 minutes - it was brutal =P

brooke77, I hope you enjoy Chicago! I’ve run it 3 times, and it will forever be my favorite big city marathon! I can’t wait to hear about it after you cross the finish line!
