I was sent the interview questions for an interview tomorrow (not the previously mentioned CPA firm in my clothing question post), for local government. Would it be appropriate for me to bring notes to help me along?
Yes, it’s fine. I’ve done that for all of my interviews and I had quite a few in 2020.
One I had used the “STAR” method, where you had to state the situation, task, action, result. I had a few pages of examples written out for different scenarios they might ask. I brought it all, but of course one question I didn’t have an answer for…I did get the job though, so guess it was ok!

I’d say that’s fine. I would try to just have key words to prompt you, and try to keep it all on one page if possible so you’re not flipping pages to find an answer.

I would assume if they sent questions in advance (I've never had that as a candidate or done it has a hiring manager) they would be totally fine with you bringing notes.
Yes, I work for a government and it's totally normal to bring notes in to the interview. I love when I have the questions in advance! I've had them sent 24 hours in advance, but also sometimes only 30 minutes in advance (in that case they asked me to come 30 minutes prior to the interview).
ETA: I also think having questions in advance really puts candidates on a level playing field. Some people (introverts!) are not naturally great at thinky talking and if spontaneous replies are not a required part of the job, why not give everyone the chance to show their best selves?
I’ve gotten questions before the interview once. Luckily, it was a zoom interview (January 2021), so I was able to have notes pretty easily. There was only one thing I wanted to remember though.
loira, I love that you mentioned the level playing field thing. I am not super quick thinking, processing, and talking. Tends to leading to thinking out loud.. which reads and babbling.
