Friday: Off Saturday: 2 cyclocross races (really slow. It was hot out, and I don't do well without the ebike in the heat. I kept my HR low.), 2nd in the 40+ (age) women Sunday: See Saturday. 2 CX races. Bigger fields. I had a great first race. It was really hot out for the 2nd race again.
Fri - ran 3 Sat - rest Sun - 11.3 miles LAST LONG RUN BEFORE HALF MARATHON DAY! The run was not great, but I realize that a big part of it was that I was lazy and didn't leave until 10am, so I'm not directly worried that I can't run better next week on race day. It was sunny and almost 70 degrees, and I should have brought more water than I did.
I am having big feelings about this HM. I haven't done one in 9 years. Since then I've had a baby, lost my mom, become an equity partner in my firm, lost one of my dogs, had another baby, lived through a global pandemic, bought a house, sold a house, got another puppy, and changed so much as a human (both physically and mentally/emotionally). When I first registered for this race back in Feb., it felt like a pipe dream to finish it. 90% of that would be getting to the start line reasonably prepared and healthy. I can't believe how close I am.
