Does anyone use the DribbleUp system for soccer skill (or basketball skills) training for their kid? We are looking at buying this for soccer skills for our 9-year old.
The ball isn’t super-expensive, but it looks like maybe we would want to buy a stand for his iPad so he can use it heads-up.
Also the “live training” membership looks kind of expensive ($17/mo) but without the membership you can still use training on the app.
Of course the website is super-vague about what is available without the membership, and what the features are of the different stands they offer (they only show thumbnails and no description).
My DS1 uses it for basketball. Not the membership just the exercises. I think it helps him but he doesn’t do it consistently unless I nag him. Haven’t heard any complaints about the tech from him at least. It makes him redo exercises if it thinks he hasn’t mastered them, which I like because otherwise he would do something once and think that’s all it took
Following! I have thinking about getting the Soccer for my 9yo for Christmas.
I did some digging and it looks like the stands suck. Literally every review is like “poor quality, broke the second time we used it.” So I think we’ll buy the ball ($49) and maybe pick up a well-rated stand from Amazon.
We have the soccer one for our 8 year old. He loves it, and I think it will be good as we get into colder weather. We got the phone stand, it's heavy duty metal - I have no idea how you'd break it.

Does it just hold a phone, or could you also use an iPad?
The photos show it breaking where the plastic phone holder/tablet holder connects to the metal stand part I guess? Looks like a ball and socket that shears off. Could be more of a concern for the basketball one because it would be about the same height as dribbling a basketball and might get hit by a flying ball more often than with soccer.
I had never heard of this! I think it loks cool for my soccer obsessed son.
The amazon reviews state: While technically you do not need a subscription to use the app or get started, the vast majority of class content (both on-demand and live) is behind a pay subscription wall. They basically have a list of drills and some beginner content unlocked by default as a teaser. Beyond that you're forced to subscribe. Not good. The app content is also mediocre at best - very one note - and the app a bit kludgy with some bugs, video freezes a lot etc
Hmm now I’m wondering if my account has a subscription. I know I’m not paying but DS1 got it as a gift so maybe that person is paying. He hasn’t complained about limited content

We e been eyeing it for years and have always decided it’s not worth it because of the $17 monthly app. Also if kids want to practice skills they can do it with a regular ball and set up drills on their own or with free YouTube videos and tutorials (there are millions). A special ball or app doesn’t make a difference. So we keep skipping it.
