Poop! and antibiotics (not what you think)

One of my kids has been having on and off, persistent stomach issues for over a year. We know it's somewhat anxiety related but we have never totally worked out the whole situation. She's been to the doctor but nothing ever really helped/panned out yet and we chalked it up to anxiety for the most part.

So she's been on antibiotics for a totally unrelated issue and she thinks they have HELPED her stomach. She's been feeling better and says her poop is "better" overall (I will spare you details). 

Has anyone had this happen??? She finished the course and feels like things are going downhill again. I see there is some evidence that antibiotics can help with IBS...but she has never been diagnosed with IBS officially. Maybe she has IBS???

We have a doctor's appointment this week that we planned to cancel, but are thinking of keeping it to talk about this issue.

I had very bad stomach issues when I was in college and as a last ditch effort they put me on a massive dose of Cipro and that really worked.

So I wouldn’t be surprised if antibiotics helped!
