Last week, we went to a new endocrinologist after my 7 year old had a second (in his life) hypoglycemic/ketosis episode that landed us in the ER back in the summer. he is otherwise perfectly healthy and no one really suspects diabetes at this point.
thankfully, it sounds like we are doing all the right things - his last episode was spurred by a weird vomiting incident. he threw up once and felt soooo much better right away, but that was enough to deplete his reserves and once that happens it just builds on itself.
ANYWAY - wondering if anyone else here has a kid with this. he is almost 8, and the doctor said they do usually grow out of it by his age, but not always. she also did order blood work to basically complete her diagnosis by excluding other issues.
this is the second endocrinologist we've seen - the first one was just ok, but i really like this one. i'm just praying that his blood work rules things out the way she expects it to.
