It was a weird week. The kids have today off, so short week. Sports was canceled a lot. DD2 had a ton of homework on Tuesday and 2 tests on Wednesday, so she skipped club practice Tuesday night and was up until 10pm crying because she wasted a lot of time and didn't get to watch her ipad. DD1 went on an overnight trip for school, so Wed and Thurs were fairly peaceful because they weren't fighting. DD2 is infinitely more agreeable when DD1 isn't here.
Last night we took the kids to see Frozen. It was amazing - I recommend it if you can see it. twinmomma - curious about what you thought.
This weekend will be quiet. DD1 is heading to a friend's house soon, and DD2 has her last club practice of the season this afternoon. DD1 is going to another friend's house tomorrow, and DD2 has a birthday party later in the day. Rec soccer is over, so no games on Saturday. Sunday no plans except for DD2's last club soccer game. It will be a quiet weekend!
No school today. I have an acupuncture appointment at noon. I'm planning on letting DD have a pj/TV day. Saturday DD will ride for the last time with our friend before they move 4 hours away. Sunday I want to clean outnour spare room that turns into a collect all room It's really bad right now.
I'm off today. I've been cleaning and just puttering around. I'm about to cook a pot of chill for the kids this weekend and have a glass of wine. My weekend is up in the air. The kids are hunting with Dh. In between and afterwards I am just hanging around to see what they want to do and eat.
I hear tales of when air travel was glamorous. I don't know how this important service became on of the most inept industries. Ds's flight was canceled last night. He could not get another flight until today. Was there weather? Nope. Any explanation? Nope. Pretty disappointing for a weekend trip. Dd is swinging by the airport on her way to bring him home later today. It's very odd having children traveling all over the country or state these days.
BTW, apparently dds PowerPoint Christmas list was categorized. If it had a Santa in the lower right corner, that wasn't merely decorative, that indicates a high level of importance.
I had a very busy, tiring week. I got home last night. I’m trying to focus on work before a weekend of quiet, but failing. I’m hoping for a very quiet weekend though! Also working on my thanksgiving menu. It snuck up on me!

I'm not sure about the lowered prices for a lower quality experience. It's pretty expensive for an average person to fly, they tried to charge him $75 more for them screwing up tickets he bought many months ago. I thought about filling a complaint with the Department of Transportation, but technically it wasn't me.
We are seeing a comedy show tonight. Other than that no plans which always sounds glorious. But then, in reality the kids fight or throw an attitude and I would prefer to get out of the house. I spend the entire time cleaning or doing laundry or resting on the couch instead of anything fun.
When I try to plan things with friends, it always ends up bunched on the same weekend, so I shouldn't reach out to anyone because they will say hey not available this weekend but available next weekend when I already have 2 plans. That is how it always goes!
We’re all off today. I really should be catching up on work, but since all the kids are off I’m with them other than answering emails.
6-year-old DS2 is doing a YMCA one-day art camp. I’m very grateful they offer that since he was already bouncing off the walls by 7 am. DS3 is doing a YMCA skateboarding camp but didn’t want to stay all day. DS3 and I took DD to a softball catcher lesson with her friend this morning. Then DD’s BFF is having a small 12-year-old bday party - they rented a cabana at a local resort pool. Lucky girls. We dropped her off at 11 and now DS3 and I are home until we go pick up DS2 from skateboarding at 1 pm. DS2 missed a bday party at K1 speed for one of his friends last weekend because he was sick, so this afternoon I’m taking DS1, his friend, and DS3 to K1. DH is going golfing
Anyway, tomorrow we have soccer games for the 3 older kids and a date night with another couple. Sunday a baseball game and 2 basketball games. Overall a pretty laid back weekend for us, which will be nice! My sister’s family comes a week from tomorrow for a week for thanksgiving, so that will be very busy.

As a whole, prices have declined. However that’s not always reflected in individual experiences. Less-popular routes definitely suffered once they were no longer mandated so if you are flying in/out of a smaller airport you may see higher prices even though airfares as a whole may have declined. It’s been a while since I’ve read the full studies, I admit.
Or he could also have just gotten taken advantage of by a shitty airline.
It’s always complicated applying broad economic research to individual experiences!
The week was a shitshow. I have two advisees failing a bunch of classes and I cannot understand how they got to 8th grade without being able to really read, and another one who I think might get expelled for sexual harassment. It's been an exhausting week of meetings and parents phone calls and conversations with kids and so many tears.
We were going to go to the beach house this weekend but the kids are balking so we might stay home. DD2 has soccer tomorrow and DD1 is reffing in the morning, but otherwise we have no plans.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
DD threw up around 10 last night. I just threw away the bathroom rug entirely because she didn’t quite make it to the toilet for everything. I got her set up on the couch with a bowl because she didn’t want the bowl in her loft bed. Threw up again at 4 am and is now voluntarily showering which never happens. Ugh.
mae0111, we absolutely loved it! I think the girls were skeptical about seeing Frozen since it's a "little kid show" but we were all blown away by the performances and the set/lighting. It was really stunning! And I was just having the best time watching all the little Elsas all over the audience. We sat next to one cutie who was all decked out in red lipstick. haha We were also sitting among a group of high schoolers who had done Frozen Jr as their school play and their reactions to the real thing were also great!
