Because I am really struggling this year with what to tell anyone to get me for Christmas. I really can't come up with anything small or big that I want, but it annoys me when people don't give me ideas for gifts, so I'm trying to figure out some things.
1. What is on your list of things you would like for Christmasm
2. What is your ultimate gift if price wasn't a factor?

1. I really like Gap’s modal pajamas. I’d like a new pair or two of those, and giftcard to the car wash.
2. H pulled off the best gift I ever got last year. He gave me a spa service at a different place every month between January and my birthday in May. All prebooked and paid including tip. I didn’t have to arrange things I just had to show up. He even put them all on the family Google calendar and made sure he was home with the kids on those days. That’s definitely more than we usual spend on one another, and some services were more “worth it” than others, but not having to plan any of it? Brilliant.
1. I have a few sort-of practical gifts on my list... I really need a new heavy skillet. I've had my current Calphalon stainless steel skillet for 15 years, and it's warped now from DH putting a hot skillet in the sink. I use it a lot and I would really like a new Calphalon stainless skillet with a stainless handle so that I can throw it in the oven.
2. Ultimate gift - probably an all-inclusive trip to New Zealand or Tahiti. I always prefer an experience to a thing. DH wants to buy me jewelry and desperately wants me to get my ears pierced so that he'll have more options for me... no thank you sir. I barely wear the jewelry that I have.
librarychica, That is the most amazing, thoughtful gift! I'm jealous!
1. I'm always a sucker for more nail polish, I do home manicures weekly. My mom usually does a good job picking out some new sweaters for me each year. And I love funky new jewelry. I wear a lot of big earrings, so that's always a win when I find new ones. Bonus points if they're handmade by a crafter. Otherwise, I have no real "list" to give people either. 2. A hot tub. We want one for our house so badly. I know it would get a ton of use. But it involves reinforcing our deck and installing the right electrical plugs and all that, it's not plug and play so we're avoiding it even though we've found some reasonably priced ones.

librarychica, that is an amazing gift! mae0111, I also don't have my ears pierced, and people complain that they can't buy me earrings. I only wear the necklace that Beau bought me a few years ago even though I have a ton of jewelry.
1. I haven't given it much thought as to what I want. I need a new chest protector for dirt biking and can always use new riding jerseys. The jerseys are $20-30 and my mom has bought me a new one for the last couple of Christmases. They don't last long getting snagged on blackberries and branches while riding and they don't seem to wash very well.
2. If price wasn't a factor, it would either be a big vacation or a new vehicle.
1. Housekeeping. DH cancelled our housekeepers when he started staying home, and we really, really need to hire them back. He doesn’t clean. He does a few tasks, but our house is super dusty.
2. A new car, which we might actually do. My car is 10 years old and has almost 100k miles on it. It’s still okay but it’s a Volvo so things are starting to wear out and they are insanely expensive to fix.
1. I have told DH I want an apple watch. I think he is purposely not hearing me.
2. Splurge items are a new set of diamond studs to replace the ones that were lost over summer, but I feel guilty asking for those, since it's my fault I want them. Oh, and lately, I'd really like a gift card to a Japanese head spa. Or for DH to set just set it up and have it handled like librarychica's miracle worker did.
1. I can’t come up with too much. So far a new orange theory heart rate monitor (my 5+ year old one pooped out finally) and a couple sports bras from athleta (I recently discovered and love the ultimate ease ones).
2. Oooh good question. Travel (just the $ since I love to plan travel) or maybe a remodel of DH’s and my bathroom.

1. I want a package of blow outs. I'm so bad at doing my hair but I got a blow out twice now for events and it really made me look nice. If I could get a package that would let me go a couple times a month that would be great.
2. A home addition. Also all new floors in my house. Also a trip to London and Paris.
Great ideas! Cozy pajamas may be something I could ask for, the older I get, the more I like them. I've had a brochure on my desk for facials and massages forever, but can't bring myself to shell out the money, so maybe Dh. Not a lot of fun to wrap or unwrap, but I'll love it when I use it.
Vacations would top my big list, tropical, Italy. Or a signed contract for a pool.
mustardseed2007 I have a blowout package and love it. I have dry hair that doesn’t need to be washed very often and I can get a really long time out of a blowout!
sdlaura I’m about 80% sure it’s an Aireloom. I’m not 100% sure which model… It is totally bougie and priced accordingly. Supposedly will last longer than comparable mattresses, but I’ll believe it when I see it. Still no regrets. It’s perfect for vacations because I never want to leave vacation, but I’m always so happy to come back to it.

k3am I love how the website says those mattresses were inspired by the serenity of the California mountains 🤣
Those weren’t the ones I was thinking of though that I looked up the last time we all talked mattresses. I think maybe librarychica got an adjustable one and I had looked that one up at the time…I wonder what brand that is. DH is getting older and snores, so I was thinking having a king with each side adjusting individually would be cool.

I remember this conversation! We can down to a Tempur-pedic Pro Adapt and a Serta iSeries, both Medium hybrid mattresses. We got the Tempur-pedic on the adjustable base and my hips feel so much better every day. It was totally worth it. We didn’t get the each side adjusts individually, we just didn’t think we would use it much, but our friends have that version on their sleep number bed and love it.
We tried sleep numbers too and thought they felt weird. I think you either love them or hate them.
We have ours on an adjustable base. We didn’t get the split bases that adjust individually but I kind of wish we had so that I could prop DH up when he snores and not have to prop me up too.
mommyatty, when DD gets her own room soon, I think my 3 boys may all want to share. Then we would have an extra room if we ever want to sleep separately!
I gave H a list of clothes. Long sleeve shirts, warm pj bottoms and slipper socks. Oh, and legos. And a few household things I want (new pasta bowels and a butter dish). My birthday is Monday so he gets to encompass both birthday & Christmas in his buying.
H's birthday is the beginning of December so I need to buy for him too. He says he wants nothing for birthday & Christmas. So that's cool. /s
I'm pretty low maintenance in my wants even when money is no object.
DH and I are not exchanging because we are getting bigger ticket items. I told my mom a sweater. My sister and I do not exchange and I’m not sure what the in-laws are doing yet but they never ask me anyway.
