These aren't tried and true but I'm making them this year because I'm on a cranberry kick and I'm intrigued by the idea of chocolate brownies with fresh cranberries. And full disclosure...my brain is fried, and I know this recipe popped up from something I was reading today but no idea what, so it may have been from someone on here in another thread. I'm also tempted to try the cranberry oatmeal cheesecake bars linked from the same page. www.afamilyfeast.com/bog-hollow-cranberry-brownies/
I usually make pecan pie, and either a pumpkin roll or pumpkin cheesecake. Apple crisp would be good but there's not that many of us so I keep it to 2 desserts.
I often make cheesecake, usually one with a lemon curd swirl. I think this year I’m going to do cheesecake bars and will have lemon curd and cranberry curd in the side for people to too their bars with.
I also make apple cream pie a lot at thanksgiving and am trying to decide if there’s a way to adapt it to make it in a mini muffin tin for bite sized pies. I’ll probably just end up doing a big one though so I don’t eff it up.
The apple cream pie is shredded apples, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and cream. I can pull the recipe if you want it.
It’s the only dessert with “Thanksgiving” ingredients I like. I hate any kind of pie (my MIL will be saddling us with not one but three pies on Thanksgiving). I like sweet potato but not in dessert, I don’t like cranberries or pumpkin. I generally hate cooked fruit but in this cake I like it.
I'm making this Polish Apple Pie. It is not like American apple pie at all. THe filling is apples and cinnamon only so it is not too sweet. The crust is like shortbread.
There would be a riot if I didn't make the pumpkin pie recipe from the back of the Libby's can. I do bump up the amount of spice called for. If my niece doesn't order pies from Manna, I might also bring the take on an apple pie with bacon-toffee sauce.
