How old are your kids and what's on their lists? I could use some ideas and I'm sure others can too!
DS is 9 and so far he wants Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, Lego Lamborghini, Lego Minecraft, Pokemon cards, Switch games, a Nike hoodie, a speed cube, and Beyblades. For stockings I might get a little Pokeball "Lego" (not real legos) thing he liked at Target, a whoopee cushion (his request), and an ornament.
DD will be 22 months and I'm really stuck on what to get her. I have some play food on her list...and that's it. What were your kids favorites at this age? We have SO many toys and books already. I think we already have a lot of the typical gifts for this age - Mega Blocks, Duplos, play kitchen, Little People, Magnatiles. We don't really do memberships to things, and I don't have experience things that I want to pay for. People keep coming to me asking for gift ideas and I don't know what to tell them. Ideas welcome!

DS is 10. His list is:
Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh cards Nintendo Switch Games (Mario Wonder, Mario RPG, Lego 2k Drive) Stuffed animals - squishmallows and others Lego sets (the London architecture one, and Star Wars) Anything related to The Simpsons or One Piece Books (Catwad, Wimpy Kid, Avatar Graphic Novels, Rick Riordon, Who Was series, Who Would Win series) Dungeons & Dragons books and fancy dice Schleich ElDrador Creatures
Aside from what's on his list, we are thinking of getting him a new wiffle ball set, some Christmas ornaments, flannel sheets for his bed, The Comfy Dream Junior.
Does your DD have a baby doll stroller? I know many a two year old girl who loved them.
Santa brought DS a little hard-sided suitcase with Mickey all over it when was 2.5. There were also nice leather Mickey sneakers by Geox inside the suitcase in his shoe size and the next size. (Buying boy shoes that last has always been so much harder than when DD was at the same ages.) DS got a lot of use out of that suitcase for 3 years until just recently when my mom got him a larger one as it was getting harder to fit all of his clothes in it. It was perfect for overnights to grandma's house and car trips. We even let him take it on his first post-COVID airplane trip this summer because he was so proud it was his.

We don’t have a baby toy stroller. Love that idea!
felicity, that is such a fun age to buy for! My DD really loved her play stroller, baby dolls, Little People, and Melissa and Doug food sets at that age.
9 year old boy: - super fast remote control car - hardball baseball pitching machine - sewing and craft supplies - power ranger switch game - wayside school book set - drone with camera - shirts for his favorite baseball/basketball teams - basketball socks - light up basketball - baseball batting gloves
5 year old boy - Nintendo switch (we bought this as a joint gift for them) - any mario switch games - micro maxi scooter - power ranger costumes - Mario Lego sets - maze and connect the dot activity books - walkie talkies - captain underpants books - air clay - sight word bingo game
DS1 (10) is asking for tea, candles, incense, face masks, and a soccer jersey.
He is getting a soccer jersey, an annual pass to Universal Studios, and Yoshi’s Crafted World and a Dribbleup soccer ball as joint gifts with his brother. He’ll get tea and face masks in his stocking. He’s not getting anything flammable.
DS2 (6) is asking for scary toys, scary games, and ghostbusters toys.
He is getting an IT Chia Pet, interlocking puzzle blocks, a pass to Universal, the gifts he sharing with his brother and probably one other thing aside from his stocking gifts. The problem is that he has asked for scary games and Ghostbusters toys for his birthday and Christmas the last 2 years and now he has all of it (and never plays with it).
DD2 (10) has a list of 34 things (ugh) which includes a Stanley, Uggs, Lululemon, and skincare. She has categorized her list into so-called “needs” and wants. This is me over here biting my tongue.
DD1 (12) wants yet another pair of white shoes and several athleisurewear things, ear buds, skincare stuff. She took a different approach and put a lawyerly asterisk and said certain things would be extra nice to have but that she understands she is unlikely to get all of her requests.
DS (7) is still pretty into toys. He is getting some Power Rangers, Bakugan toys, Pokemon cards, baseball cards, more Magnatiles to add to his collection, a National Geographic make your own terrarium thing (he likes science), a watch that he requested (just one that tells time and has a couple games, not a smart watch), he's also really into Titanic so he's getting a model he can build and several kid books on the subject. This is all between us/Santa and his grandparents, so I probably need some additional ideas for him. We did get him a Switch last year so possibly a new game.
His stocking will just be candy or random small things I find at Walmart. Last year I just searched "stocking stuffers under $5" or whatever and added a bunch of those to my grocery pick-up order, which was very convenient.

DD1 is 12.
She wants a skateboard Disney Doorables American Girl Doll Animal Crossing amiibos Logic Puzzle books Rick Riordan’s newest book Architecture set Hacky sacks A non smart watch. 🤣 Alpine Lego set Pictionary
DD2 is 5: Remote control spider DUPLO bath Lego set Care Bear Baby Doll Ariel Lego Set
It's not on her list, but I'm confident DD will be most excited to get Mario Kart for Nintendo Wii. We recently set up a 2nd hand Wii in the basement and it's her first experience with video games. We found a used Mario Kart at our local game store.
I also think she'll be excited about a bib and medal holder for her race stuff.
Other things she wanted: * watch for running (what she really wants is a Garmin like mom's but that's not happening) * various Star Wars and Harry Potter Lego sets
DS is 4 and hasn't really gotten the hang of list making yet. So far I've gotten him a bunch of stuff for our Feb vacation but still need to work on a thing he'll be excited to open.
Wishlist: Elsa head (lol) Double stroller for dolls (wrong one given for birthday) Paw patrol mighty pups Snow globe
Added after 4 days of television with commercials (and very unlikely to be purchased): Bluey big treehouse thing Cry baby Fingerling monkeys Lightening McQueen race car track Wubble balls
Items not asked for but will be gifted: Totes for dance class outfits New sheets Fun socks Books Probably some dollar bills (they are into money 🤷🏻‍♀️)

ALL of my kids' bdays are between 12/10 and 1/8, plus Christmas with us/Santa and also both sides of the family, so they have big lists and I have to figure out all kinds of gift stuff in a short time. They won't get everything on the lists and they may get other, different items, too.
8 and 10: some Barbie, Playmobil, Taylor Swift stuff, "real makeup" 8 year old!, Lego sets, generic Lego bricks to build with, cool craft stuff, Calico Critter, Converse, white Nike socks, decorations for their rooms, Kendra Scott necklaces, iPad (getting my old one with new cover), butter slime, belt bags, some American Girl, Pura Vida bracelets, maybe Converse shoes, 8 year old kind of needs a bike but we wouldn't get a great one. Both want air pod knock-offs. Their lists are similar but almost 11 year old's list definitely starting to trend "older" with more of the fashion stuff/fewer toys. (probably getting the almost 11 year old a duffle bag for sleepovers)
Almost 13 yo boy is unusually still into making play scenes/displays with toys and loves to build collections: Star Wars Lego sets Plain Legos Plastic sea life and sharks Star Wars Black Series collectible figues Xbox gift card Jurassic World dinosaur toys (and these must be a thing with adults also b/c some of the random obscure ones he picked seem to be selling out and I don't think that's from 6 year olds buying them) Nerf Gel Fire guns Strategy Games Bike PHONE (doesn't have one yet) Gaming PC--not happening (I also got him an LL Bean duffle bag to replace his toddler bright blue suitcase with his name on it!)
Almost 15 yo girl: She collects vintage American Girl and her happy time is making beautiful historical doll set-ups in our giant doll house! For the first time in many years she's not asking for a doll, although she thought about it. Decided to focus on items she is missing for current collection. Otherwise this year for the first time she has a very teenager-y trendy list: Ugg Tasmans, Ugg ultra minis, Kendra Scott necklace, maybe Converse lift high tops, acid-washed ripped jeans, other clothes, White Fox hoodie (sold out all over), overnight curls headband, tiny coffee maker for her room, small ring light, cosmetics, earrings, Pure Vida bracelets, needs a new outdoor winter jacket for activities in snow (sledding, skiing, etc).
All the girls also want Starbucks or Bath & Body Works gift cards.
My 13 year old doesn’t want much. She never does. It’s a struggle every year now that toys hold no appeal and she isn’t into clothes/makeup.
For her birthday (last week) we updated her room with a few space/Galaxy pictures and she also got a few graphic tees from Tilly’s and high top Nike Blazers (she did not ask for these but actually loves them! I found a good deal and took a chance).
For Christmas her list consists of a trombone stand, a smoothie maker, a fuzzy Galaxy blanket, and a 6 pack of root beer from BJ’s. She will get all that plus a hair drying brush, a mini fridge, fun snacks, space Lego set, and white high top converse.
-the newest FIFA game for the Switch -a Myles Garrett (Cleveland Browns player) jersey -football, soccer, and/or baseball cards -rainbow loom bands -more pajama pants/shorts and soft t shirts
I've already gotten him an Inter Miami Messi (soccer) jersey and a gaming chair. Planning on a new comforter for his bed and some hockey tickets also, and we did get a Cyber Monday deal on a chromebook that will be for the family but primarily his schoolwork.
Kid #2 (4) asks for whatever she sees on tv. So we're asking for:
And that's about it...I need to work on that but she has SO much already. I've gotten her a Bluey house and a couple smaller Peppa Pig things, and am planning on a new comforter for her as well.
My 17 year old DD wants and is getting: Spotify GC, Ipsy subscription, and JBL Bluetooth speaker. Her stocking has candy, a phone charger, face masks, mascara, eye masks, shower steamer, lip mask, nail file, nail polish strips, make up erasers.
My 14 year old DD wants and is getting: a hanging mirror with a heatless curls headband, nice perfume, and black ballet flats. Her stocking has candy, a phone charger, face masks, mascara, eye masks, lip mask, shower steamer, nail file, nail polish strips, butterfly clips, lip stain, make up erasers.
My 12 year old DS wants and is getting: folding fishing rod, pen fishing rod with tiny tackle and tackle box, and beats headphones. His stocking will have more fishing lures, candy, football gloves, a fishing shirt, practice casting weights, fishing line, fishing pliers, and pokemon cards.
my 6 yo's list changes daily, but the official letter he wrote to Santa was "mine craft fox stuffy, mine craft bird (??) and mine craft legos."
He will be getting (from us/Santa): Pop a shot (family gift) lego table and some mine craft legos a stuffed animal (pokemon, but might return for requested mine craft fox...) costume books Various toys/gadgets

DS1 wants everything and DS2 can never give me any ideas so that is super fun.
DS11: - new ipad - pro switch controller - floor gaming chair - legos - some rubik's cube thing - Vbucks
DS8 - gymnastics medal holder - Cat crimes board game - New Cat Kid Comic Club book - Connect 4 swing - Mario World (or whatever that new game is called) - and I have no idea what else. He never asks for toys but I think he still wants them.
8 DS - LED lights, Pokemon cards, giant squishmallow Snorlax, and a turtle. Like, an a live turtle pet that he wants to keep in his room...I have been researching turtles and it seems like $$$ to set up properly and then we would need to coordinate care when we are away, so 99% sure this isn't happening unless someone here can convince me otherwise!
10 DD - Stuff for her room, craft supplies, Ferris Beuller's Day Off DVD...she doesn't have too many ideas this year but I came up with some things I know she will like.
My kids are heavily swayed by the catalogs that came in the mail and circled so much stuff! Here's what they're getting so far:
DD1 (8.5) - HP Lego set - Hedwig plush - "smart" watch - Taco vs. Burrito game - Sticker by number, color by number activity books - Real makeup kit (caboodle + cheap makeup) - Book TBD
DD2 (5) - Bluey house - Squishmellow - Horse stable from Lakeshore Learning (30% off one item today!) - Outfoxed board game - Sticker by number, color by number activity books - Real makeup kit (maybe) - Book TBD
Stockings: - Candy - Headbands - Xmas ornaments - Nail polish - Hair ties - Hair brush
I was burned last year by jealousy so this year they are getting a lot of identical gifts. We will see if it works out better than last year. I'll probably fill in with a few more small things I see on sale or impulse buy later LOL.
I really have no idea what to get my almost 7 year old son. He hardly plays with toys anymore - in his free time, he is either playing sports or drawing. He's mostly asked for jerseys, sports gear, sneakers. Which is fine, I guess, but I worry he should still be playing with more toys at this age. He did ask for a Nintendo Switch but I don't think we're ready to fully embrace the video game lifestyle yet. I got him a new tablet, so that should hopefully hold him over for another year or so.
ETA: His wishlist just seems more like one of a 10 year old boy rather than a not even 7 year old. I guess I'm just not ready for him to grow up.
