The other day DS was saying he wanted a watch, and I asked him what kind he wanted.
Him: Just a normal watch. Me: So one that just tells time? Him: What? No! Like an Apple watch <proceeds to tell me how many other 3rd graders have them>

DD hates remembering to charge things. Headphones, watches, etc all need to not have to be remembered to be charged. She is the only 7th grader that I know that prefers her regular ear buds and now wants a Shark watch. 🤣

DS wants everything and DD struggles to ask for anything. Highlights from lists (as DS's is 2 pages long). Some we're getting, some is grandparents, some won't be purchased
DS (6): Loog electric guitar switch lite ski lego set bills jersey nerf football Echo show Crunch labs box
DD (9): Stanley cup bike ear muffs Catan Jr Ski Lego set
Other things we're getting: Ski goggles/gloves/gear (replacing things they outgrew) Switch games Super goop (DD) Athleta clothes (DD) Cooking classes (DD)
I really have no idea what to get my almost 7 year old son. He hardly plays with toys anymore - in his free time, he is either playing sports or drawing. He's mostly asked for jerseys, sports gear, sneakers. Which is fine, I guess, but I worry he should still be playing with more toys at this age. He did ask for a Nintendo Switch but I don't think we're ready to fully embrace the video game lifestyle yet. I got him a new tablet, so that should hopefully hold him over for another year or so.
ETA: His wishlist just seems more like one of a 10 year old boy rather than a not even 7 year old. I guess I'm just not ready for him to grow up.
DS went through a phase where he didn’t seem to be playing with toys anymore around age 7 and I was kind of sad about it, but he came back around and still plays with a lot of stuff now at 9. There’s hope!
Both DD's (9 and 6) are still not at the age where they request specific items. They basically love getting anything. That definitely makes things easier for us.
My dd started riding a micro mini scooter around 2 years old. She still rides it and she's 4. It's great quality and easy to replace parts that get worn out (wheels).
We also did all of the doll stuff around that age. Stroller, high chair, crib, etc. She's my 4th but the only girl so we didn't have much of that stuff with my older kids.
8 DS - LED lights, Pokemon cards, giant squishmallow Snorlax, and a turtle. Like, an a live turtle pet that he wants to keep in his room...I have been researching turtles and it seems like $$$ to set up properly and then we would need to coordinate care when we are away, so 99% sure this isn't happening unless someone here can convince me otherwise!
10 DD - Stuff for her room, craft supplies, Ferris Beuller's Day Off DVD...she doesn't have too many ideas this year but I came up with some things I know she will like.
Don't get a turtle unless you want to still be caring for it when he is an adult and doesn't want it! Spoken from experience - ILs keep trying to pawn off Hs childhood turtle on us and I refuse 😂

Ooh the micro mini is probably the one ride on toy we don’t have. Great idea.
How messy is the sink? I never got one of those for DS because he was always more…rambunctious and I just couldn’t imagine him keeping the water contained. DD might be more suited for it though.

I know, I know! What pet lives for 20+ years?!
I actually had a turtle in high school, my boyfriend at the time brought it home from Chinatown in NYC as a gift. He went back to live with the boyfriend when I went to college and then we broke up. I wonder how he's doing now (the turtle, not the bf lol).

We have a different one from Walmart but I always just put down a towel and it was fine. You can limit the amount of water you put in it, too
Ipad Bath robe Pottery wheel Lots of clay/clay tools Roblox GC Shrinky dinks Gryffindor squishmallow Kendra Scott necklace as of yesterday
fancynewbeesly- if you mean the newest Percy Jackson, we picked it up at Costco yesterday for like $11. DD is getting it for her birthday in January.
Yup. We picked it up already. She wants that one and the Greek Heroes book (the companion to the Greek Gods ones). She is currently on House of Hades so probably won't read it for awhile.
There was a story in the local paper about a guy who got a turtle of some sort… Or tortoise? When he was a little boy. He’s in his 80s and still has it!
My son is also 22 months. I picked up some play food at a kids' consignment store last month that we'll wrap up for Christmas, he loves to play with the play food at daycare. He also loves to help us vacuum so we are going to get him a (functional!) kids' vacuum. And he loves cars, so my ILs are going to get him some sort of car racetrack ramp thing. I think we'll also get him some accessories for his baby doll (crib, stroller, bottle - right now she only has a pacifier, which he likes to bring to her).
DS is 6 and doesn’t really have a wish list. I’m here for ideas! He loves Minecraft, playing outside on his scooter/bike, and swimming. He’s not really into sports or toys.
I’m planning on getting him: -marble run -ninja line -Minecraft legos -GC to movies
DD1, who is 9: *Bitzee *Bean bag chair *5 Surprise Mini Brands Mini Mart *Stuffed snake *Echo Dot *Squishmallow cards and binder (I'll put a pack of cards in her stocking and skip the binder.) *Deck of cards *Earrings *Wireless earbuds *Fuzzy blanket - Any recs for a Barefoot Dreams dupe? I am def not buying the real deal! *Oversized sweatshirts Picwits Rainbow High Doll
DD2, who is 6: *Doctor Kit *Beyblades *Calm strips (lol) *Leotard *Gloves *Blankies *Bitzee *Hidden pictures books Rainbow High Doll (probably only because she was present when DD1 mentioned it) *Balance beam - She didn't outright ask for this, because she doesn't know you can get one for home, but she loves gymnastics and was lamenting the fact that she can't practice beam at home.

What pottery wheel did you get? I’ve thought of giving that to my 10 year old.
I didn't, lol. We have no good place in our house for her to do it just yet, so instead I am getting her pottery lessons at a local place. But a friend shared that she got her son the NatGeo one and it's a good beginner option.
If anyone's kid has the Lego Friends Heartlake City Community Center on their list and you have a Costco membership, check your local store. Its retail price is 139.99. My Costco had it on clearance for 79.99 today!
Pilsy , I've never heard of Bitzee before and now I kind of want to get it for my kids! Great idea! And on sale at Target, score!
Your girls will love them.
DD1 has been asking for a pet (a REAL pet), and after seeing a Bitzee at a neighborhood party, she told me, "I'd rather have a Bitzee than a real pet." My H was like, "We'll get you two!" lol
My younger DD (10 turning 11) has a birthday this weekend. Christmas gifts are always tough for her because she doesn’t want much. She’s asking for Mario Wonder, Mario Odyssey, a Warriors cat stuffie (from the book series), and a sketchbook. She’s also getting stuff not on her list: upgraded lighting/heating for her leopard gecko, a soft sided flute case, and a heated throw blanket.
DD 1 (13) is getting easier to shop for now that’s she’s getting more into hair/makeup/nails. She’s getting a heatless hair roller headband thing, nail stuff, a weighted blanket, a Star Wars Lego set, and some new archery equipment.
Both girls are getting hard sided suitcases, neck pillows and custom luggage tags.
