Has anyone noticed that there are now items that require you spend $25 in order to get free shipping as a prime member? I get why they are doing it, but it sucks to get used to shopping a certain way.
yes and it's really annoying. I pay for prime and now they pull this crap?? I get that it's only smaller things but seriously to have to do $25 is ridiculous. I think they should at least be free still with another prime eleigible item

Yeah, I have seen it. It is only for super cheap items. I mean it makes sense that they would end up losing money giving you free 2 day shipping on an item that costs like $2.

BUT I GAVE THEM $79 TO BE A PRIME MEMBER! They could take the shipping costs from that money!

I have. If I didn't enjoy their tv/movie prime content I would not be continuing my membership. Their shipping has slowed down as well and their prices don't seem to be as great. Most of what I order not is subscribe and save for the ease and that is already free shipping.

That's really frustrating! Although I'm guilty of ordering all kinds of things one at a time with my prime membership. I think it's silly when I pay $79 a year, can't they ship me things with that money?

I am pretty sure they do. For the other items you had shipped. I mean the rare times I pay for shipping on amazon it is expensive. I ordered something the other day that had $15 shipping for 2 days. Given that I order like 4 things from amazon a week the $79 is probably eaten up in a weeks time.
ETA: Plus aren't they offering items that they couldn't afford to offer before?

I saw this and didn't get outraged about it. I mean it's not like there isn't something else I need anyway and it doesn't apply to many items I need. I'm more pissed about having to now pay sales tax, but that's my state.

They've always had a ton of cheap random things. If you go to filleritem.com and enter a small amount of money, you will get a long list of them.

Interesting, this annoys me already and I haven't even found any items that make me spend $25 yet.
I found an article that claims they lose $11 per prime customer. I am sure that is the case with me, but they make up for it because I order anything I can from amazon.
This doesn't bother me. If you read the link someone posted, they say that they can now offer items that they only could offer in bulk previously. I've found some things like that on amazon that are only available through prime if you buy them in a pack of 25 or whatever. That's not helpful to me, so I don't end up ordering them at all. At least now you can order them with other small stuff or other larger stuff you already wanted.
Let's not pretend $79 is a high price for a year of shipping, especially if you are a frequent shopper. I'm certain we've already more than gotten our money's worth and we've not had Prime a whole year yet. I love that when ordering something in the $10-15 range I don't have to spend $25 or pay for shipping. I do this all the time!
I saw it and actually thought it was a cool idea. Why should they ship you a single $2 item for free? Rather than just discontinuing cheap items like that, they can still offer them, with free shipping, as long as it's part of a larger order.
Yep. I have a couple educational charts for the kids in my cart right now. Not really a big deal. I prefer it to getting a huge fucking box with a teeny pack of razors in it.
