1. I am recommending those LED colored lights they can put in their room with a remote control. Available on Amazon. Magic Treehouse is my best first grade reading recommendation. Or if they are too above her level then Owl Diaries.
I have a soccer holiday party gift and a birthday party gift for 11 year old girls. And I still need to buy for my in-laws but I won't see them until January.

I got a mystery squishmallow box and slime kit for my 10.5yo nephew. Those things are somehow still the things that it seems like every kid that age likes?

I'm struggling with my dad. His birthday is December 24th and while I have a gift for Christmas I need one for his birthday. He'll be 86, loves to swim, fish (surf cast from east coast beaches), astronomy, model trains, and reading. But I think he has pretty much every gift under the sun from those categories.

For a truck, if you have a TJ Maxx nearby, it's worth checking if they have any Bruder big trucks in stock. They usually do (though not sure this close to Christmas), and those are the best! Ds had a recycling truck with bins that attached to the back and opened and closed, and a log loader thing, and they are big and pretty indestructible, and they were just awesome with lots of moving parts and realistic.
For the girl, if you know if she's into any specific thing, like say unicorns, you could get her an LED remote control light for her room in that shape. Those were always big hits with my kids, and they come in lots of shapes. Ds had a race car. I got a Stitch one for my angel tree kid this year.
