Oh I’m on a roll. A big holiday dinner with one dessert served. Everyone will like apple crimblefuck or no dessert for you. Holiday spreads should have multiple desserts. Fight my Italian family on this.
My Scottish family, too. My grandmother used to host Christmas dinner for six people and enough dessert for twelve.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
I'm not talking about the walls. I mean rooms where there is zero color anywhere, rugs, throw pillows, wall art, toys all neutrals. I've seen kids rooms on SM where the entire room is white/gray/beige
My SIL is a beige mom. The whole house (including kids rooms) is off white. The children are dressed exclusively in creams and browns.
The other day she posted “wooden toys just hit different.”
'Wooden toys hitting differently' makes me think they are being thrown around her house, and yes, they would hit differently than the lighter plastic ones. Lol. I do like wood toys, but I am not a neutral color person at all.
I agree with pixy0stix about buying back Halloween candy. I feel like people give out way more candy now, my kids gets handfuls from every house, it seems. Then so many people do the switch witch or take the candy to the dentist or whatever and what- is it all just being thrown away? It just feels ridiculous to me to have everyone buy and distribute candy just for the candy to be taken and a toy purchased to switch it for, just.. so much consumerism and waste.
Italian cookies, you know the ones that are a plate of multicolored cookies with random sprinkles. Dry and horrible.
So I would have agreed with you until my dad brought home a plate of these cookies from his holiday party one year. These cookies were so good. They were actually moist and the ones that looked like they had chocolate in them tasted like chocolate. His boss got them at a particular bakery and now I go to the same bakery every year and give them to everyone.
I don't understand why there are still funeral processions. In my area it is common to see them on highways and interstates due to the area. They also hire private security that blocks traffic. They also go super slow...like below the speed limits. I would never, ever want my family to do this when I die. And no one seems to want to pass them either even when there are multiple lanes. Exceptions would be for public figures, etc.
They’re not for show - people are actually proceeding together from the funeral to the cemetery and it’s easy to get lost on your own or get caught in traffic that doesn’t stop and be delayed.

Brussel sprouts - no amount of butter can make them taste good to me
During Covid our neighbors ordered 25 individual sprouts. She based it off the ordering guidelines for bulk produce. They did a substitute since the bulk was out of stock. They gave them 25- two pound bags! She dropped some off on my porch . We have not touched a Brussels sprout since 2020. I gag at the thought of them.
My son’s(9) room is a neutral color. We moved into this house when he was just over a year old. His room has gone from gray/yellow nursery, to Disney, to whales and sharks, to some Star Wars stuff. I’m so glad I didn’t have to paint for each room change. Some wall decor and new bedding and he’s good to go.

And don't forget, little Hemlock and Nightshade just love being dressed in shades of taupe, rust, sand and fog!
I had to stop buying kids clothes from a local manufacturer, even though they were fantastic quality, because they started selling only grey and dijon mustard yellow, and rust etc. and it was just too depressing.
Also I was randomly at a mall today for the first time in forever and I’m going to testify that slow walkers are maddening. I know the difference between a person who is moving slowly because that may be all they can do vs the young couple that is strolling all leisurely while holding hands, in tandem so it’s a PITA to get around them. These people are staggered about every 30 feet of the entire mall. I didn’t last long.
Omg and the weaving! I can’t pass you because you’re sauntering from side to side!
For the record I’m a slow walker generally. I like to observe and take in my surroundings when I walk, unless I have a reason to move more quickly.

TRUTH. And people who say they taste good if you roast then with enough bacon so you can't taste the sprouts - you know you could just eat bacon by itself and a vegetable whose flavor you don't need to hide, right?
High end fashion. Or maybe just fashion in general? But when looking at runways/famous people known for having great fashion I just don't understand what looks good about it.
Vegas. I have an acquaintance who LOVES Las Vegas and willingly pays to go year after year with her H instead of... literally any other destination (they are not gamblers either). I'd take a free trip there if offered, because I'm sure there are fun things to do, but it's so far down on my list of places to visit that I genuinely don't care if I never see it.
My H’s Aunt and Uncle and now adult children go to Pigeon Forge every year. They have no desire to go anywhere else. It blows my mind not wanting to leave the state or area you grew up. It does have to do with the cost of a vacation but you don’t need to fly somewhere or spend a lot to go explore. The family also just won’t try new foods. I’m talking chicken prepared a different way, nothing crazy. I offered a taste of risotto to Aunt. I explained it’s a different type of rice, cheese and stock. She would not even taste as it was such a foreign concept. I’m passionate about the traveling thing lately as my H’s cousin and fam are coming for a visit. This is a 32 year old, graduated high school. First plane ride and all that. It was hard for me to explain how airports and flights work and just basic things to do with flying. They called from Alabama around 7pm, we are on the East coast. She asked if it was morning here. This was one for the randoms that I just spat out here.
I’m liking most of these posts. 76.5 oz $50 water tumblers, anything in excess- $50 throw pillows, $400 purse, buying your child a toy most times you are out, buying bottled water- please do reusable people. Crop tops for 6 yr olds and letting your 1st grade child wear makeup to school(more than lip gloss). Apparently I’m a cranky 44 yr old woman that just does not get most things people do anymore. Or people

I hate that I keep seeing on SM posts about how the new American dream is to leave America. Now I am an expat so it probably shouldn’t bother me but I find it so annoying in the last year there are so many people moving to Europe and say only the positive things. Life is boring everywhere. You have to pay taxes and go to work and take care of kids. But these people are moving to places like Spain and Italy and think that life there is permanent bliss/holidays. I like how the people from these countries are leaving comments in their posts blasting them. I mean youth unemployment is at almost 30% in Spain so of course it must be annoying to see these influencers wax on how they live in the “best country” in the world when the actual people from these places have to move abroad to be able to survive
I just learned that my friend has started watching football because Taylor Swift might be at the game. Sooooo you're watching Taylor watching football? That might be the lamest thing I've ever heard. Let the woman watch the game and rub elbows with the other unimaginably rich people in the sky box. I really don't care if you're a fan of Taylor Swift but the extent people take it to just boggles my mind.

But it's so true, they really do hit different.
Every time my kid hit me with one or dented something with it, I cursed myself for not going plastic.
Concerts. Obviously lots of people love going to them, but I don’t get it. It’s loud, crowded, and late at night. They never play the songs I want to hear, and it’s so expensive to go/park, etc. I get bored halfway through almost every concert I’ve ever been to.

My grandmother's funeral procession was one of the most terrifying driving experiences of my life. It was a LONG way from the funeral home to the cemetery - maybe 15-20 miles, so we had to take the Baltimore beltway. There we were, 30+ cars in a chain on a 6+ lane highway, going below the speed limit, all of us in the right lane with flashers on, making it completely impossible for any traffic merging in from an onramp to safely signal left and change lanes into regular traffic. It was white-knuckle the whole way and I was 100% convinced I was going to watch the procession get more people killed.

same here. They started actually when people walked to the cemetery! I feel like they are unnecessary. We have ways to find out how to get to the cemetery!
I do see the point about finding the actual grave site - cemeteries are hard to navigate. But I would think there are ways to deal with that issue without creating a long, slow line of cars from the funeral home that cause traffic issues.
Charcuterie boards. Most of the things on them look gross to me - processed meats, pickled/vinegary things, mystery dips. Blech.
I struggle with this. One of my closest friends is really into making them, and when she does them they are beautiful and she's trying to get me into them. I agreed to go to a class with her after the holidays. I don't have the patience, it takes me too long to make them when I have to make the actual MEAL that goes after the board. Mine is mostly cheese and crackers because that's what I like 🤣
She also sends me these grazing tables where the whole table is basically charcuterie, or it's like a breakfast one and there's breakfast foods arranged like a board and I'm thinking "some of that is supposed to be hot, some of that is supposed to be cold. Sure it looks pretty but is everything just room temp? Sounds kinda gross?"

So off to the class I go 🤷
Some friends hosted a party recently and they had a beautiful charcuterie table! It was so pretty that people were hesitant to eat it. And when we tried to eat it, we couldn’t get the meats separated out of those pretty rosettes. After several hours I would estimate maybe 15-20% had been eaten. It was either a huge waste, or the family ended up eating charcuterie for weeks.

Agree. It's super unsafe in cities. Meet at the entrance to the cemetery and then caravan to the gravesite.
