Ah, it went in the bypass bin! That's usually where damaged bills go and should be checked every time the machine is balanced. D'oh! Glad it's resolved!
It's wild they didn't discover this until you called. I used to work in a bank vault and took care of ATMs and we had to count the money at least once a week to make sure you the machine was balanced and there was almost always money in the reject bin.
Glad it was resolved and that someone was competent enough to help you. I remember the ATM at the branch I worked in had one of those repositories too.
I’m glad it’s resolved, and that the bank employee is going to file a complaint. But I would still email the bank myself as well. I would compliment the employee who actually resolved the case *unlike corporate* and I would want to see how corporate replied before I decided whether or not to switch banks.
I went into the branch this morning to deposit cash, after this thread. Of course the teller reminded me that I can also deposit cash at the ATM.
Despite having been burned by the ATMs with my checks, it's still so convenient when it actually works. But losing cash would have no recourse if the big bank decided to not believe me so I went inside today.
We had an issue with BOA saying they couldn't read a check I mobile deposited. After many calls a manager told me they actually outsource that. So weird!
I've had so many problems with them we are trying to determine what local bank/CU to switch to. We do have USAA but that doesn't solve the local issue.
I’ve never had an issues with USAA, and I’ve never had any other bank. Although I can’t recall ever having a time where I needed a local bank.

1) yea! Glad it was resolved properly 2) definitely file your own complaint that also praises the diligent employee 3) THANK YOU for putting the updates in the OP and not making me scroll through three pages to find it.
