Current slippers are 10+ year old sheerling lined Birk Boston clogs. The insulation of the sheerling is mostly gone/totally compressed, so now they're basically just birks, which are fine, but I live where winters are horribly cold, so I need something more.
support is a MUST. Light memory foam won't cut it. I'm on my feet a lot at home, and need the level of support found in orthopedic shoes like birks and dansko.
I'd just rebuy what I have, but I'm considering something that goes higher up my ankle to give me some warmth there, instead of a traditional slip on clog-style shoe. My kitchen gets COLD, and I'm at my kitchen table a lot, but even with socks, my ankles and legs get cold, so I was thinking about an ugg? But how are those for support? Any other suggestions?

I love my vionic fuzzy slippers with orthopedic support but they aren't that warm. My daughter got the Uggs and they are a dream but are costly. I think they are worth it though and you can wear those for a quick outing
I wear these. They are so good that when I recently left for a trip, my sister absconded with my fairly new slippers while house sitting. She did buy me a new pair though. They are very warm, supportive, have a rubber bottom and last forever (I’m on my third pair….my first pair were 10 years old).
I love my LL Bean moccasin slippers. Rubber sole so decent support. I need something on my feet at home or else my back and knees kill me by the end of the day, and these slippers are great for me.

You probably won't beat Vionic slippers for support. I originally bought a mule style, and then switched to sandal style because my feet get too hot, so I'm not help if they have even warmer ones/ones that go up to the ankle, but if they don't currently, check ebay for past styles. I was able to get brand new Vionics on ebay for much cheaper once I knew my size (zulily used to be a good source for end of season sales too, but alas, they are no more).
These are amazing. So supportive snd comfortable. This is my second year with them and I basically wear them 9 mo The out of the year for hours every day. They haven’t lost support yet.
My LL bean slippers had zero support (which I prefer) and barely lasted a year. I was so disappointed! Now I have some from Overland Sheepskin (the Lily) and love them, they’re probably 4 years old and I just bought new insoles this year but they’re otherwise in great shape. They go up over my ankles and are super warm. They have some options with more support that would probably work for you.

The ll bean ones do not have any arch support. I loved mine for years, but I also needed something more. I currently have the UGG Tasman ones. I know UGGs do not have much arch support, but it is enough for me. I also love that I can replace the shearling footbed with a fresh one. I would definitely consider the Olu Kai slippers - I have many pairs of their shoes and they definitely have the arch support.
How is the support though? I couldn't tell from the pictures. Like a Rothy shoe?
I have a pair of vionic pool shoes, and they makes my heel feel weird. Almost like the arch is *too* much. My feet are picky.
LL Bean fans: do the LL Bean slippers have any support, or is it mostly flat?
I don't have any Rothy shoes, but they're supportive. But not molded with a high arch, if that makes sense. They're plenty roomy if you wanted to add an insert. And I've had mine for 3 years now and they look great and are still comfortable. The only thing that takes awhile to sort of soften up is the top of the boot around the ankle. For the first about month or so they were a little unyielding. Now they're perfect.
I have plantar fasciitis. Support to me requires and orthotic.
I wear LLB Wicked Good Slippers with a fleece orthotic insole insert. I got mine from the Walking Shoe Store a few years back, but they're similar to this.

So I’m now getting ads for these and it’s powerful, because I really really want a pair despite getting a new pair of vionics for Christmas. 🤣
