We are having an indoor swim party Sunday. Problem is the outdoor temp will be -2.
Parents can pull up to the building so the most they have to walk is 10-15 feet. I was thinking of bringing my 2 hairdryers for the girls.
Should I get the kids out of the pool to dry off early or just figure they will be in the dressing room for more time drying off?
We are serving pizza but the place I have targeted does not open until the same time as the party which is 3 pm. What time should we have pizza delivered or pick up pizza? Party is 3-5.
We settled on Dunkin doughnuts would you get 2 dozen or 3 for 19 girls. Also how much pizza should I get? If I go with the place I had targeted they do have an XL pizza which serves about 8 people.
We haven’t had any parents cancel or express a concern so they still all seem to want to come despite the cold. I assume most parents are watching the weather because it’s been super crazy lately and dressing their kids warmly.
I would do pizza and doughnuts at 4:30pm. 3pm is a weird time for food and the kids will want to jump in the pool anyway. Get their excitement out, swim all around, get changed then eat up closer to a dinner time.

Agreed and this will help their hair not be dripping wet.

I wouldn't bother with blow dryers.
Agree. We go to the indoor pool at our rec center year round, and we never worry about what the outside temp. is when making those plans. It also wouldn't concern me for a party. And I would also do pool time 1st and food/cake at the end when they are out of the pool, just because that makes the most logical sense and it will give them some time to dry off.

I wouldn’t worry about bringing hair dryers or anything. It’s currently swim season and my kid goes from the pool to the school bus back to school to my car still wet no matter what the weather is. I make sure to have their seat warmer turned on but otherwise they come home and take a hot shower.
As far as food, i would plan to have pizza at 4:30, so they swim for an hour and a half then it’s food time. I would do 3 pies and 2 dozen donuts for 19 kids.
Signing in as another lifelong swimmer, this is blowing my mind.
Skip the hair dryers. 2 hair dryers will do nothing for a party full of kids. You'd spend all of 3-5pm blow drying hair. Hats, hoods, and some common sense will go a lot further.
I have very funny memories from being on the swim team in college, in winter in upstate NY, on a campus where everyone walked everywhere, and everything was like 20 minutes from everything else (lol). Our hair used to freeze outside after morning and evening practice. It was like a fun novelty to see what styles we could get it to freeze in.

I’m glad everyone is supportive. I thought people would say I should cancel the party. I think parents have common sense enough to bring hats and hoods so I won’t worry about blow dryers.

For the food ..
Is the doughnuts your cake. If so, one per person is fine. I wouldn't get the typical assortment, I would get like 4 flavor favorites and six of each
Are you feeding parents too?
Pizza just the girls I usually go 2 pieces per person and round up (5 pizzas) or 3 pp and round down(7 pizzas). I would go with 6.
If you are feeding parents too, then go up to 3 dozen doughnuts and probably just think about one piece per parent. I would probably add 2-3 pizzas. 10 pizzas would be plenty
