I loved it. Hard to believe that was almost 40 years ago. So many great performers in one room. I don't think I ever realized that Dan Aykroyd was there though.

someone poor that sing in my head a few days ago, and I'm still not forgiving it. Please tell me this won't make an earworm because I cannot handle that horrible mental noise
I haven’t seen it yet! I remember when I was a kid we had the VHS tape that was the making of We Are the World. I guess it was sold so money would go to whatever charity was being supported? And at some point my parents must have decided to buy this VHS tape? It was one of the first ones we had, which seems kind of weird, but my sister and I watched it a lot.
So I’m looking forward to the Netflix documentary!
I loved Lionel Richie's impression of Michael Jackson. I can't believe how he used Sheila E to try to get to Prince. I felt bad for her.
MJ really had an incredible voice. I wish I could hear his music without remembering what a horrible person he was.
There were so many fun moments: Cyndi Lauper's bracelets, Huey Lewis's nerves, and the camera guy was hilarious. It was really interesting hearing from the vocal arranger about how he chose who to put together and which parts they would sing.
Al Jarreau was a pain in the ass. I thought he was worse than Dylan.
I loved it so much! The way they just started showing up at the studio was great; and it's pretty amazing with all those egos they got it done in one night. I loved Stevie Wonder showing Bob Dylan how to sing it like Bob Dylan :-) DH and I also came up with who we would pick for a current WATW.
It was so good! I was impressed with how much they rallied until around 8:00 in the morning. I also thought it was funny how honest one of the coordinators were about possible “trouble” personalities with their behavior and egos. Lionel Richie killed it… I can’t imagine hosting a show and performing while throwing this together.
I agree that MJ’s voice and talent is insane. I have a hard time appreciating his music/career and hating him at the same time.

What’s your list?!
Our working list is: Billy Eilish, Rihanna, H.E.R, Ariana Grande, Kelly Clarkson, Chris Stapelton, Bruno Mars, The Weekend, Zach Bryan, Harry Styles, Brandi Carlisle, Jason Isbel, Lizzo, Eddie Veder, War and Treaty (Beyonce or Taylor if we needed a Michael star quality equivalent). We were trying to think of current-ish people with distinct singing voices.
