I just installed a Gerber toilet in my main bath and so far I'm very happy with it. For my budget, my friend who is a plumber recommended either Gerber or American Standard.
we've put Toto Drakes into 4 bathroom remodels in 2 houses over the past 15 years. I'm sure we have a plunger somewhere but I don't know where. We have never needed it.
This! I will only put in Totos from now on. You cannot clog the Toto Drake. I have whatever the latest iteration of it is in the main bathroom that I put in a few months ago. The cool thing is that it's a two stage toilet. You can do one flush to save water (it's PLENTY for whatever you--uh, need to do--put in the toilet.) If you need it, there is a 2nd flush you can do right after the first one for when your kid stuffs all the toilet paper down the toilet thinking it was 'fun."
People with bidets, I'm questioning the temp of the water. We have a tankless water heater. It takes a MINUTE for water from the tap to warm up, it's annoying AF. I feel like I'm gonna get shot with ice cold water but if everyone loves them so much, that must not be the case?
We don't have hot water attached to ours or a heating element, so we're getting straight tap water. In winter it's very cold BUT still great and I will never go back to not having one.
My bidet seat is cold water, but I wouldn't give it up. Putting in one with hot and cold water would require too much money/tearing up the bathroom because of where the water lines are.

Some models have a reservoir to warm water so it’s instantly warm because it’s not actually coming through the hot water line. Those generally need an electrical outlet basically behind the toilet (which we had added in our new build in anticipation of adding the bidet system, just haven’t bought it yet). Honestly though, I’ve used a peri bottle for years for the purpose and it does the trick just fine.
I recommend a dual flush. It has two flusher buttons and one uses less water for pee and more water for poo. It's more eco friendly. I think these are more common outside the US. I was able to find one at Lowes though.
