My DD is turning 10 next month and having a sleepover party with 4 friends that she wants to be Taylor Swift themed. I was wondering if anyone has any fun ideas, either for the theme or just for a sleepover birthday party for five 10 year olds! I might get a bracelet making kit so they can make their own TS bracelets and they will definitely be watching some of the Eras Tour, which comes out on Disney + right before the party. Not sure what else to include? Was thinking maybe karaoke but we would need to buy a karaoke machine and that just sounds loud.
Planning to have an ice cream sundae bar for dessert, plus some fun snacks and likely pizza for dinner. I feel like another craft or activity might be good as my DD can get pretty wild with a lot of friends over. They'll be over starting at 4:30/5 on a Friday night until 10:30-11 the next morning. My DD has had each friend over individually for sleepovers before but not all 4 at once.
Last year we painted letters for each girl's name and wooden picture frames. I got most of it at Michaels and then each girl got a set of brushes from dollar tree.
I also had a popcorn bar of fixings for them to make before they watched a movie and got picked up. This allowed everything to dry while they watched a movie.
We had a 10pm pick up though, not an overnight.
ETA: We did aprons with their names as part of their take home, I just cut out heat transfer vinyl and use my cricut easy press.
Oh my gosh, my 9 year old wanted to do this but we couldn't pull off a date b/c of other events. We still might do this as an end-of-year type party! I have a Pinterest board if you wanted me to share it somehow? I'm not sure how.
Anyway, random ideas we had found: "find the guest who..." game with things that are things related to Taylor "shake it off" game you can do with Post-It notes or I preferred one where you tied an empty Kleenex box full of...something? to each kid and they had to try to shake everything out "paper rings" craft or ring toss "Welcome to NY" pizza
We hadn't pulled it all together yet, but was thinking something like... --coloring sheets upon arrival --find the guest who...game --"shake it off" and Minute-to-win it type games we would tie to songs, lyrics or albums --make bracelets --food; give foods cutesy names; maybe decorating own cupcakes with Taylor themes (i.e. lip sprinkles, NY stuff, Nashville stuff, sparkle powder, whatever) --Karaoke dance party (maybe also with a dance game of some kind) --Photos with photo backdrop/props? --Watch Eras Tour on streaming
I was also debating about whether I wanted them all to have on red lipstick. I was thinking of looking for a really cheap red that was maybe more of a colored balm or a gloss so I didn't have them getting red lipstick everywhere. Maybe sending that and heart sunglasses as favors.
Another idea we had was doing nails like her Eras Tour nails (or however they wanted to do their nails) but I thought we'd buy the colors similar to what Taylor has on each nail. We have a lot of nail polish already so it wasn't a huge deal to buy a couple more as needed.

My daughter had a TS birthday party back in November.
We made bracelets and I had the tinsel hair lady come and my sister did makeovers including a bright red lip for everyone. We also asked for all the guests favorite TS songs beforehand to create the party playlist. We had talked about doing karaoke but it didn’t happen.
We gave out heart sunglasses and inflatable microphones in the party bags. Also, H dressed up as Travis Kelce 😂.
It wasn’t a sleepover but they had a great time.
ETA: I also made microphone cupcakes which were a hit.

I think one main craft and then some activities as options is enough. If you have other things just know they may not end up being interested. In my experience they just wanted to free play/horse around etc.
I definitely think the friendship bracelet should be the main craft/activity. That’s perfect.
For Karoake - can you ask around and see if anybody you know has one you can borrow? But I agree with pp that you could probably just use you tube to create your own karoake. I’m sure you could get just a microphone to use.
If you have gaming console and can do just dance that was a popular thing to do at parties.
I like the idea of doing a backdrop and photos. I’ve done photo booths for a few parties. Have them make the friendship bracelets, put on red lipstick and take pics. I took nice pics but also my dd had an instamax camera and we took those so the girls could have them. For one of the parties I just printed out some from my computer on photo paper and had girls decorate frames to put them in for another I got cheap photo albums and put pics in. You could do a decorate frame craft with the friendship beads.

Thanks everyone for all the great ideas! I was thinking one or two short Taylor Swift themed games would be fun. All the girls coming are really into Taylor Swift except for one, but I am not sure if she is even coming yet or not.
I think I will do a backdrop and take photos. I will look into borrowing a Karaoke machine or using you tube for that, I want something kind of active and we don't have any gaming consoles to do a Just Dance game. Love the red lipstick/balm and heart sunglasses for favors!
Love the popcorn bar idea as well! I was trying to avoid doing nails for 5 girls but that's always an option, we have a ton of nail polish.
Yes, I am sure there will be a lot of free play and/or playing with my DD's American Girl dolls too as that's usually a hit with her friends but wanted to make sure I have enough crafts/activities in case they are needed or it starts to get overwhelming for my DD and some directed activities may help with that.
One more random thought since you mentioned American Girl. I don’t know how much you have in terms of doll clothes, but when my girls’ cousins came over for a sleepover after the girls saw the Eras tour movie, they had a super great time trying to dress their dolls in different Taylor Swift album-inspired outfits! They just did that all on their own, but it was really cute.
Maybe you could do Karaoke using YouTube videos with the lyrics on them, and just sing along? I don’t think you necessarily need a machine to do it.
Maybe decorate cupcakes with lavender icing?
I agree, this is super easy to do. I'd just use wooden spoons as mics! It's more fun to have the actual song playing in the background, less pressure to actually sound good.
This would be a really cute friendship bracelet decoration:
My daughter did this for her 13th. She's a little older, but they decorated cakes in album themes and it was super fun! They drew randomly -- Midnights, Reputation, Lover. Sorry if these are huge; I don't know how to resize.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I just had a Taylor party for my 9 year old and it was adorable. We didn’t do a sleepover but a 4 hour block. We did tattoos when they arrived, everyone got a sparkly 13, and could pick a tattoo of their favorite song lyric.
I had a few trivia games that I led them through- Guess the song, finish the lyric, and general Taylor trivia- I used You Tube and made up cutesy answer sheets. We did pizza and “lavender haze” lemonade which was just lemonade I added food coloring to and served in a cute cup with a fancy straw.
We did a few karaoke breaks. I just streamed their requests to a Bluetooth speaker and we had a few Bluetooth microphones we got on Amazon and they sang their hearts out. This was their favorite activity, by far.
They also liked making friendship bracelets. I got a kit and precut and tied the strings.
I went a little extra and got a life size Taylor cutout. All the girls got red lipstick and red heart sunglasses as part of the favor bag so we had them put the glasses on (a few did the lipstick too) and took a group photo with “Taylor”. I basically got it all on Amazon! A local baker made the cookies.
