Been at the resort for a bit over 24 hours. So relaxed and happy, though tired.
First all inclusive we've been at for a LONG time. The bit that we're doing is adult only, so we have adult only spaces - infinity pool, snack bar and restaurant space. I love not having to think about paying for anything. We wear a special bracelet that informs the staff that you are part of this group and the key to your door opens up the doors to the spaces. I definitely drank too much yesterday (unfortunate side effect of getting old is not being able to drink much) so been more relaxed today.
Here's a few pics:
I feel super fortunate to be able to do this. And it reinforces the idea that I want to retire near the ocean.
Kid 1 and I just got home from running some errands, and I found a cute new swimsuit to wear on our trip to Disney next week. It's snowing/sleeting here today and I am over the winter weather. Give me some sun and a pool, stat!

We saw Hasan Minhaj last night and he was hilarious!
So this week I went out with coworkers for Happy Hour on Wed, went out with friends Friday night for my birthday and went to a comedy show last night. My introverted self needs some no-people time today.
That looks beautiful mrsukyankee,. Enjoy every minute! Our dog sitter came by today for last check in before the trip. We found her on Rover and really like her, but a voice in my head kept saying 'you never really no someone'. Then I realized I have a German Shepherd and they are incredible judges of people. I am going to trust HIS gut and he absolutely adores her.

Where did you find the bathing suit?
We leave for FL Wed and I assumed my clothes from last year would still fit. Spoiler: they don’t. I’ve only gained a few pounds so that really sucks. Guess I’ll be doing some last minute shopping tomorrow.

We are battling a rodent in our garage. It’s chewed through weather stripping on the garage door and beside it, chewed through my son’s surf board and ruined our corn hole board.
I’m fading. We were in Hawaii for a week with a 4 hour time difference. We got home last night a little before 10 and I couldn’t fall asleep. Once I fell asleep I felt waking up wondering what time it was. I had set my alarm for 7:30 in an attempt to start getting my body back on Colorado time so I got up then but now I’m starting to get so tired. I don’t want to take a nap so I’m really tired at bedtime and fall asleep easily early.

Just a heads up, they also can get into your car and chew through wiring. Ask me how I know.
My skin is always ridiculous during seasonal changes, but this is over the top dramatic 😒
I think I have an eczema patch on the underside of my chin. First noticed it around 5pm yesterday. I've used hydrocortisone on it twice today, and it helps with the itching. But it's not clearing up. Might even be getting bigger.
I have two similar patches of weeping, crusty, itchy skin on my hands. They're smaller, though, and it looks like the steroid cream is clearing them up.
It's been a good day so far. Slept in, made homemade waffles, picked up our grocery order and just relaxed on the couch. We took DS to a birthday party at 1PM. Normally we wouldn't stay but we're friends w/ the parents and a ton of adults stayed so we did. We had fun chatting w/ everyone and the food was good. Except for I accidentally knocked over another mom's coffee and spilled it everywhere and felt like an asshole, though she was nice about it. It was good for DS to get to play with some friends for awhile. Not that he doesn't get enough socialization, but with him being an only child, I basically jump at every opportunity to get him out with other kids on the weekends.
H took DS to his office with him after the party because he needed to get work done, and I just went for an hour walk. Going to make spaghetti with meat sauce now and chill for the evening. I am off all week! Not sure what I'm really going to do. I do still need to be around to take DS to school and baseball so it's not like I can go that far. I usually do some deep cleaning projects, go through my closet, and take some long walks. I need to catch up on reading too.

We just got power back after losing it a little before 5 yesterday. This storm was barely on my radar - no one was mentioning it. We got about 8 inches of very heavy, wet snow. My mom lives 30 minutes north and she got 15 inches.
It’s DH and I’s 12th anniversary today. Yesterday I had plans to make dinner but he suggested we order in, so we ordered sushi. Today I made what I was going to make yesterday for dinner but was having trouble coming up with a dessert idea, so I walked over to the fancy cupcake place and picked up cupcakes for dessert.

Today was a relaxing day. I am relishing a quiet weekend before a crazy week. DS’s friend came over and they went to the indoor golf range and then DS texted the owner of his gym to see if he could bring his friend and he said yes so MH and I dropped them off there and then went around the corner and had apps, pizza and drinks. We grabbed them a pizza before we left. Now I am chilling on the couch.
We got several inches of snow yesterday. It looks like a bomb went off with all of the downed branches in our yard, and several hit the power lines, but we never lost power. Had DDs birthday party this morning which was a success and everyone had fun... And then we lost power like an hour after they left. I'm so annoyed. The ETA for power is 11pm tomorrow so we have no heat overnight, this is going to be rough. Just hoping the kids are warm enough in their fleece 😬

I had such a nice day!
Took my daughter to the playground this morning while my partner went to the gym. Then we came back and I went to the gym and ran a little over 4 miles on the treadmill. After, we went to brunch and met a friend and his elementary aged son. After brunch walked around a bit and stumbled upon a playground near the train we were getting on. So our daughter got to run around there. It’s so fun seeing her grow and figure out how to navigate steps lol and saying hi and waving to everyone on the playground.
Now our daughter is napping (she’s a night owl and she doesn’t go to bed till 9) and I am just gonna relax for the next 40 min. Definitely a good family fun day Sunday

Thinking warm thoughts for you pandorica! I'm glad you at least got to have the party.
Yesterday was 3 weeks until our wedding, and omg, I am not ready. My rational brain says we're on track with everything, but part of me wants to just run around screaming in panic. The fact that next weekend is a long weekend, so there's one less business day in there is not helping. Ahhhhhhh!
In related news, I did a bunch of house organizing, laundry, cooking today and did manage to get a first draft of my vows written so that at least I feel like I'm on top of *something*.
First full day in the mountains. DH slept in and I did about four hours of work that I needed to catch up on. I’m feeling a lot better about taking the week off now.
DH took the boys out to ski before lunch and then we all went out together after lunch. We came back and hot tubbed for awhile and then got cleaned up. Now I’m reading and eating chips and salsa while the kids zone out with screens. We’re having tacos tonight. I want to watch the Barkley marathon documentary and I’m sure DH and I will play Ticket to Ride when the kids go to bed.
Winnie is doing great with my MIL. I hope she’s excited to see us on Friday.

The power came back on already! So we're all toasty now and finally got our chores done. May need to sneak in and turn the heat down in the kids room since I bundled them up so much 😂
Good luck in your final countdown! I'm sure you've got everything under control, but I know this is a super stressful time.

Someone on a buy nothing board in my neighborhood was giving away a bunch of unopened, non-expired, frozen food. I got a Costco size bag of salmon, chicken and cheese, she saved me sooo much money!!
