My question is alcohol. We are having beer, wine and two signature drinks. (the person that is hosting the party at her house prefers to not have a full bar)
Any suggestions for drinks? I was thinking a spiked lemonade (vanilla vodka, st. germaine, and lemonade) and a margarita because we are mexican food for dinner. I know the drinks are kind of girly but they have beer and wine if they don't like them.
It's my mom's 60th birthday. The party starts early at 4:30ish.
Those sound good. I would just make it as easy as possible-like pre mix everything and put in those pretty glass dispensers. Or can you rent a margarita machine? Sometimes they have them where you can do two different flavors - like margarita and Bellini.
I might not do spiked lemonade and margaritas together - they're both kind of similar citrus-y drinks. Both sound delicious, but I might do sangria and margaritas as someone else suggested, that way you're getting a little more variety.

I agree that the 2 options you have listed are similar. If you are looking for something to change out with the spiked lemonade, I love this recipe for a boozey punch! I usually add some Cranberry juice as well, since it is a bit strong as is.
1.5 cups berry vodka 3/4 cups Grand Marnier 6 pints of fresh berries (raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries) 1 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed—about 8 lemons) 1.5 cups simple syrup 1 bottle sparkling wine (Something Extra Dry)

I would have a second "signature" drink that would appeal to guys too. Sangria and margaritas are both pretty frou-frou. (Yes I know they can drink beer).

What about Martinis or gimlets?
I wanted to do something I could pre-mix and mininalize the bottles because we will be around a pool.
