I was very groggy this morning and by mistake took DDs Focalin.
OH. MY. GOD.
I feel like Magda in Something About Mary (in a good way). I've already gotten both kids off to school, walked the dog, took a Body Pump class, went food shopping, purged the fancy dress collection for donations, washed and organized all the kitchen towels and cleaning cloths, washed all DD1's bedding, washed all the winter coats and accessories for storage, vacuumed the stairs, put away all my laundry from yesterday, cleaned out the floor of my walk-in closet, scheduled our yearly maintenance on our mini-splits and finished making my jean shorts. I'm going out for a quick run momentarily.
I'm seeing the Stones in two weeks and I am just now allowing myself to become excited about it. Given their ages I was like 20/80 that it would actually happen (been cancelled twice already) but it's looking like this is really happening?! I even unpacked my shirt from their 1975 tour that I save for very special occasions lol.
I hope you have the best time! I'm not particularly a fan, but I went about 10 years ago when they came to Santiago because I just felt like if you have the chance to see such a classic group you should go, and it was awesome.
“No bike shorts in the office” was such a let down. I was sitting on the staff meeting zoom just waiting the whole time for the discussion around it. And the boss said it was just a reminder, but not needed since Fred (name changed) retired. And I’m just like… why?!
I would like to sleep through the night. Every night between 9 and 10 I am just bone tired. I go to bed with no issues. And then I wake up at 3 or 4 and can’t fall back asleep. Which is why I’m exhausted. It ruins my whole day and I’m lethargic and low energy.
I'm pretty severely insomniac, plus I'm constantly having to switch from day to night. So I'm often lethargic.
The hobosexual I used to date but still shares a house (not bed) had the nerve to read to me signs of insulin resistance. He really got stuck on abdominal fat, absolutely insistent. I still wear clothes from 20 years ago, I'm fine despite some redistribution from being in my 40s. I'm still technically underweight although all deserve to not be harassed like that. It was just astonishing he wouldn't let go of those 2 points, "fat" and fatigue.

He's such a loser.
I don't understand what this word means
people who go from one woman to another to get a place to stay.
Now, I have the time invested, years, so it's not entirely the same. Thankfully it's all easily in my budget, but he's still entirely a mooch.

I decided to stop counting the days of my PICC line and just start focusing on the end date! The Monday after next cannot come soon enough! I keep it covered but am also rocking short sleeves because it’s hot here and am feeling way more self conscious then I should.

I have never heard this word before and understand its intent, but I think I'd avoid using it anyway. Hobo is outdated and offensive, and rhyming it with the often stigmatized word homosexual seems kind of offensive too. Even if you don't mean it to be.

I take your point. It's fairly common online, but that doesn't make it ok. I definitely did not to mean it as comparing those 2 as equally bad!
I am open to other terms to describe these moochers who are not all one sided
basilosaurus am I reading your post correctly that you live with your moocher ex boyfriend? If so I don't think I realized that. I think in my head I assumed you were married but I don't know why I thought that. Sorry for being nosy.
We're STILL without a dishwasher. We're going on close to a month at this point. It's under warranty, someone finally came out to look at it and determined what they think is wrong and ordered the part and now I just got a call that it's on backorder and won't ship until the 24th (at the soonest) so that's annoying but I get that it's out of their control. The annoying part is actually that through this whole process they have been pushing hard to get us to just return this machine and get a new one but we don't want to deal with pulling this and then paying to have a new one installed because we already paid to have this one installed. Like someone please make a note to stop pushing this option already!!! But I really just want to be done handwashing dishes because for some reason I have been the main one doing dishes and I'm over it.
We have therapy dogs on campus today because finals are approaching and I love how excited the students get when they visit campus. My student staff just told me I was the coolest boss ever because I just let them take a break to go see them - I'll take that compliment LOL

Thank you. I couldn't articulate well why it was rubbing me the wrong way but this is it.
SHIT. DD2 has a tree nut allergy and we were supposed to start oral immunotherapy (OIT) on Monday. So of course she has an ear infection. Hasn't had one all winter but must have gotten it from swimming over vacation. Took her to the pedi yesterday and they started 10 days of antibiotics. I'm still waiting for a callback from her dr but I'm pretty sure we are going to have to postpone starting OIT. We've been on the wait list for almost a year and when they scheduled this, they also scheduled 12 updosing appointments over the next 6 months (every 2 weeks) based on starting Monday. I have no idea how quickly we will be able to get a new starting appt. I've been really anxious about this whole thing (its scary), but had mostly made peace and was ready to start and get it over with. THIS SUCKS SO MUCH.

Oh noooo! Not quite the same but we've been there with rescheduling food challenge appointments due to sickness, and the next appointment is always at least a few months out. It's so frustrating! It always seems like they get sick RIGHT before an allergist appointment! I literally am not sure we have ever been able to do a food challenge on the original scheduled date. I hope they're able to just shift you to starting a few weeks later so you can keep most of the updosing appointments and not go back to the waitlist.
We have an appointment in a few months to challenge to see if my son has outgrown an allergy. I'm already nervous about the appointment (as I know you understand!), but I'm also so worried he'll get sick before it and we'll have to reschedule!
I'm sorry noodleoo! That's so frustrating when you've been waiting so long!
Is there any chance that she could just start at the already-scheduled second visit? Then you could keep the same schedule and just add a 12th visit at the end, which may be easier since it's 6 months away.
Either way, I hope she feels better soon and that it's resolved quickly for you guys!

Thanks, man food allergies are so freaking stressful. Added to that, I couldn't figure out how to reach my actual dr and I left a few messages in his different offices (he works out of a bunch). A nurse just called me back and was very rude about it. She just said my message has been forwarded to the dr and I need to wait to hear from him. I sent the first message yesterday AM so its been over 24 hours, sorry if I'm a bit anxious about this!
That's awesome, fingers crossed your son doesn't get sick and the testing goes well!
We apparently need a breaker changed in our house (and hopefully that's all) because suddenly none of the outlets on the circuit are working. Yay! I know it's an easy fix but also not something we are going to attempt ourselves so now we have to find an electrician and pay them, on top of everything else. I reached out to someone today but of course haven't heard back yet. It's all of the outlets in our kitchen (thankfully aside from those connected to appliances) so it makes it kind of hard to make coffee or toast or whatever else.
I have been feeling very unmotivated about work lately but this week has had some good reminders about why I work there. I am also likely attending a rally next week to advocate at the Supreme Court, and I think that's also good timing as a reminder of the "why". My day to day can be very blah but the work that I support is important.

Unfortunately, no. The first visit is different than the updosing appoints. It is 3-4 hours at the hospital where they do several doses the same day to see how much she tolerates. I think these appts are the limitation with scheduling, so I have a bad feeling that this is going to delay us months... DD2 starts K in the fall and I was hoping to get as much done as possible before that.
I’d accept both but in reality probably wouldn’t use the credit because I’d probably not want anything else from the store since it was a gift.
But it was her mistake and your communication was clear so no reason to turn it down. It was 100% an error on her part.
I checked out the other items she offers in her store and it's limited, but she has some cute earrings that I could get with the credit. I got my friend a personalized leather bookmark from her store. She does a lot of leather journals and such. Those are more expensive and she is giving me a $25 credit. I will take the credit and the refund, but I still feel bad lol. I know Etsy's policies are bad and people are out here just trying to sell their stuff.
In this case, it’s not Etsy, it’s the shop owner who is offering and who dropped the ball so I wouldn’t feel bad. I’ve let things slide for Etsy sellers when it’s truly not their mistake (mostly USPS or Etsy site issues) but this is pretty cut and dried imo

Does anyone have electric heat in their home? In regards to the townhouse we are looking at, my dad is really hung up on the fact that it has electric heat. He says it can be really expensive. They showed us the February bill which was $271. That doesn't seem high to me considering that is both regular electric usage plus heat in a cold month. My combined gas and electric bills were definitely higher than that in our old townhouse during the winter. I really appreciate what he's doing for me but there's a lot of frustration involved too. He's old and can't fathom how to use Docusign to sign the offer. He's apparently camped out somewhere that he has very little reception so we can't even really have a conversation about anything until he moves from there, never mind have him sign stuff, and meanwhile the realtor keeps texting to ask if we are going to make an offer. There is zero other inventory on the market and it felt lucky to have found this one in my price range but it might just slip through my hands like the one I liked 2 weeks ago! I hate uncertainty.

Is it a heat pump? Ours is a heat pump and I will say I don’t fully understand it all but electric heat only kicks in when we turn it on for the first time in the season or if it is below freezing for days on end.

I'm in Virginia and both of our units are electric. It's NBD and what I'm used to. Some say it runs cooler, but units have come a long way with technology.

I have gas and I feel like I keep reading that gas is going to become very expensive in the next 5-10 years and electric will be the cheaper heating option. I do not have a reference for this, but I know it's been discussed on CEP.
noodleoo, That sucks. Scheduling all the appointments as once sounds insane to me. They can't do the appointment if the patient is sick (IME any respiratory symptoms and/or fever). Kids are guaranteed to get sick! Ridiculous. We also did OIT with the intention to be well underway before starting kindergarten. 100% the right choice. I hope it goes your way!
I heard back from the allergist and they said as long as she’s not actively sick we can probably go ahead! But they’ll make a decision the day of. So fingers crossed she’s all better in 5 days.
Ugh this is such an emotional rollercoaster I just want to get it over with.
wildrice, discussions with Mr Ruby suggest there are likely culprits that aren’t the breaker. Those just don’t usually go bad. We think it’s a GFCI somewhere, maybe an unexpected place.

I received a letter that my doctor passed away last week. I am heartbroken. She's been my doctor for 16 years and never in that time has she made me feel bad if my diabetes management wasn't perfect or been judgmental about my weight or anything else. I saw her last in October and she was so overjoyed with my progress on Ozempic--both my A1C and my weight. We were the same age and her oldest is a few months younger than my son and I feel like we could've been friends if she wasn't my doctor. I hope I can find another doctor half as good as her.
