cville you know I love you, but I can't agree with no shoes off at all on the plane. I'm not flying to a whole other continent with my shoes on for 14 hours! But obviously Team wanderingback that you don't leave your seat without shoes on, and socks must remain on at all times.
Today's strands is a PITA. I got one this morning right away the came back to it just now and cannot figure the rest out.
Speaking of bras, since I stepped up my exercising I've lost a few pounds apparently all in my boobs, lol (which YAY) and definitely need new bras based on pics I saw of myself this weekend. Does anyone have recommendations for VERY supportive bras? My go to is Wacoal but I feel they aren't working as well for me anymore. I need a lot of support!
What size of suitcase do I need? I'm traveling for 10 days. My packing list includes: 4 maxi dresses 2 swimsuits and a cover up 2 sets of pjs 3 pairs of shorts 6 pairs of leggings 9 shirts underwear, socks, bras a light jacket a baseball cap toiletries An extra pair of shoes Maybe flip flops
I want to bring home probably 5 bags of coffee and a few other little things, nothing huge. I have a 20" suitcase, but I'm not sure I can make it with everything in it.
I'll have a backpack I can put a few things in. I plan to put a rain jacket, one set of clothes, a tablet, meds, and some snacks in it.
ETA: during the 10 days, we'll be traveling all over Costa Rica and will stay in 4 different hotels. Only the last 2 days will I have access to laundry services.
I’d a carry-on and backpack.
Yup - I'm doing an 11-day trip and am only allowed a carry-on and backpack (tour group). We'll be at four different hotels, tbd on laundry services, but I'm planning on doing some, either in the sink or with a service. I'm planning a capsule wardrobe with 6 bottoms and 6 tops. One set of pjs, one bathing suit. No dresses. The rest of my packing list is similar. And I plan to do a LOT of shopping lol. Thank goodness I can check on the way back.
I just had the most frustrating doctor appointment. It was the end of the day, I’m guessing I was his last appointment. It was my oncologist, so probably not the doctor I need to see for my issue. But also, chemo is likely the root of my questions/problems. Like, I suspect it’s a late effect for some lung damaging chemo drugs. And I just want to know where to go to figure out what is going on. And, the issue showed up yesterday and I already had this appointment. I just wanted something more than “hmmm… looks good, see you in 6 months!”
So, I made an appointment with my primary, but can’t get in until next week.
I also felt the Bluey episode of them not moving was unrealistic. It was too much of a "happy ending." Maybe Australia has a better social safety net that would allow both Bandit and Rad to change employment plans at a whim like that. It definitely felt like a very un-American decision.
DS watched that episode so many times, I had the music from it stuck in my head all weekend.
I only watched "The Surprise" once and I've been off social media all day so I haven't seen all the theories from the random Bluey fandom page that show up uninvited in my feed.
I was surprised with the number of songs on TTPD that are about Matty Healy.
Google failed me. What did he do to her?
Nothing. He’s a racist, misogynistic asshole and her family/others apparently made her end it with him because it wasn’t good for her brand. He’s gross and she’s gross for dating him - like WTF girl, you have the world at your feet and this is who you date?!
DS2 and I flew back from our Florida trip yesterday - flight options from Orlando were a bitch and we had a super early flight with our driver picking us up at 4:30 AM to go to the airport (yawn). I figured the benefit to such an early flight was we would most likely be on time. Things were perfect, we were taxiing out for an on time departure….and then an attendant realized the woman sitting in front of me had brought a dog on the plane in a REGULAR ZIPPED UP DUFFEL BAG. Like… not a pet carrier. As in, no mesh for the dog to, you know, BREATHE. OMG. So they turned our plane around and went to another gate so they could get an airline approved pet bag for this lady to purchase. Turned into an hour and a half delay. This woman seemed very unconcerned that she put the entire plane, and her dog!, through that.
I had no idea adults were into Bluey, I thought it was a kid's show? I've never seen it.
I didn't either until I saw the fandom pages. I've been thinking about Bluey vs. The Simpsons. Bluey is meant to be a kid's show but adults apparently watch it for the plot lines of the grownups. Whereas The Simpsons was meant to be an adult's show that kids happened to watch because of Bart's antics.

It's so wholesome. Like genuinely wholesome makes you want to be a better parent wholesome. It's also not annoying, mostly. I've seen threads about Bluey pop up in completely unrelated boards (like a mj-enthusiasts, primarily male, subreddit) that sings it's praises. Although, thinking about it, the show is really nice and relaxing to watch while high, so maybe that's the connection lol!
Okay, I just had H look at Strands to see if I'm nuts because I couldn't find anything and he figured it out quickly. I never in a million years would have gotten most of those. That was never my thing, lol!

I thought today's was kind of dumb too. Most of the words I was WTF at.

Maybe they foreshadowed the happy ending when the teacher says calmly (paraphrased), "Stories often have a happy ending because life is full of sad ones."
Bandit is an archeologist and Rad is an oil rigger. Rad definitely could change his job, and I wonder if Bandit will just step back into his old job since that seems like a specialty spot that would be hard to fill. (Chilli is part time airport security.)

It has a large adult following. It's not annoying and it's very wholsome/sweet. Also shows good relationships between characters including a very involved dad which is lacking in kids programming.

How on EARTH did they not make her take a later flight?

This is true, it is a cartoon. I guess the hype was that this was going to be a lesson about moving which is something many kids experience. This seems to be a theme to this show that it teaches kids lessons?
I usually watch snippets of episodes here and there when the kids have it on so I'm not a full blown fan. But if they're teaching lessons, I loved the lesson where they play "pass the parcel, Lucky's Dad's version."
DS cried at the end the first time he watched "The Sign" because he didn't understand that they decided not to move. It was a silly, cute, and moving moment all wrapped into one having to comfort him.

Cricket and Rain, forever and ever, Amen.
Takeaway is also hilarious in a yes, kids can and often do ruin even the most unruinable things, like waiting 5 minutes for the rest of your food order.
And I love the Pass the Parcel episode with Lucky’s dad’s rules. That first go when he’s paying the crying kids out of his wallet had me rolling!
ETA - I totally watch Bluey without my kids. It’s a family show, more so than a kids’ show. They feel like friends, people you know. But…animated dogs.
Oh add me to the Bluey love bench. When my H gets together with neighbors he calls it Stump Fest. I love Angry Granny Muffin.
I love the new release thing they’re doing - it’s like when one of mine and H’s favorite shows gets a new episode and we’re excited. Same for us and our DD.
But to go back to Bluey teaching lessons - I dunno if they're lessons, or explaining things in child appropriate ways. Some episodes are just fun, but some are so deep I don't know if I'll emotionally recover. In "Onesies" we're introduced to Aunt Brandy who is infertile, and they go into why Aunt Brandy doesn't come around much.

I guess they figured they had to taxi back either way? I have no idea. And who knew airlines had pet carriers for sale at the gate? Not this lady lol
