Um, we walked into a restaurant at 5Pm tonight, only to be told they don't open until 5:30pm. We like eating with the old people; no wait for a table, no need to go all the way home and the come all the way back downtown, early in, early out and home where the drinks are cheaper.
I had a friend suggest I schedule dinners for 5:00 so she could bring her kid. Um.... 1) The earliest I eat is 6 2) While I don't hate kids, it is more fun when you leave the kid at home.

But aren't you starving again by the time you go to bed? If I ate at five, I would need another meal at 9 or 10.
I eat at 5:30 pretty much every night. No interest in eating late.
Ideally, we would eat somewhere between 4:30 and 5:30 everyday. I'm right there with you. On weeknights we sometimes don't eat until 7 and that feels late to us. I'm an insomniac and I've never felt the need to eat another meal due to eating an early dinner.
I feel for you, whenever we eat out with my parents it's almost always around 4:30. We just skip lunch, since we normally don't eat dinner until 7-7:30. Then again they go to bed around 6:30-7 so I guess 4:30 is really dinner time for them.
We always eat dinner by 6 everyday, I can understand that. Maybe they are earl risers? Lunch we eat at 11/12. Get to dinner early, beat the crowds, especially on a weekend, seems good to me. 8 I be in my PJ's for sure, waiting for Suze Orman to be on.

Ha, that sucks. I am depressed that I made our anniversary reservations for 5pm so that we could be home to put the baby to bed. I HATE eating that early (unless it is outside, somehow eating outside makes everything better).
Dang it I don't know how to quote on these boards...
But no, I didn't need a we second dinner last night. By the time we had an appetizer and got our meal it was like 6:15pm. We got out of there at like 7, home for dessert at 7:15 and I was in bed by 8:30.
I'm also pregnant, and seem to get my worst nausea in the evening. I'm just not interested in food after 7 pm.
I ate at 5pm every single day of my life growing up in my parents house. On the dot. No kidding. They still do. If we were going to a restaurant, we'd get there at 4:30. No kidding.

My ILs do Sunday dinner every week at 4:30 (we only go once in a while). We eat at 5:30 or 6 every night because the baby goes to bed at 7 and we start the toddler's bedtime routine around 7:45.
