They may have different friends and different interests but nothing brings high school students together like alphabetical order.
For the eight students at a California high school with the same last name-Nguyen- it was obvious their wallet-size snapshots would be sharing the same yearbook page.
Photos: Awesome celebrity yearbook pictures
So instead of exerting their individuality with the standard Grateful Dead quote and a prom-worthy up-do, they decided to join forces for the ultimate prank. Alexandra, Angela, Angelica, Elizabeth, Emily, Isabella, Madeline and Vi Nguyen all wore the same black off-shoulder dresses and the same hairstyles. Then they went for the win.
Student's racy yearbook photo banned
Eschewing the optional yearbook one-liner under each of their photos, they divided up two sentences that made fellow students and administrators think twice before making any stereotypical assumptions. Altogether, the words under the Nguyen girls' eight pictures read: "We know what you're thinking and no we're not related."
High school prank leads to serious charges
After a fellow student posted the yearbook image on her Facebook page, it was picked up by Tosh O, The Daily Mail and a slew of other humor sites, earning the teenagers the collective honor of "funniest yearbook quote ever."
"Not to brag or anything, but I came up with this," Isabella Nguyen, one of the eight girls commented on her own Facebook page.
If anyone has earned the right to a humblebrag, it's her.
They all "wore the same black off-shoulder dressess"? Huh?! Isn't that the standard senior portrait drape? And the girl to the left of them is wearing it, too.

But, it is the best YB quote ever!
I went to HS on the west coast, and never heard of such a thing. I found out about the senior picture drape in college. We all got professional photos, usually outdoors hugging a tree or similar.
If there are 8 Nguyens, I'm guessing this is also the west coast, so the writer may have been of the tree-hugging photos tradition.
It's definitely a drape because you can see the girl on the left from the opposite page. I didn't know that people still did the drape thing, I know my mom had that in her yearbook but we did professional photos of our choosing. Like tree hugging and such, lol. Mine was me leaning on some rocks.
I love the shared quote though, it's pretty funny.
I love the story and the creativity. I will say that I went to HS in California a *ahem* few years ago, and we had the same standard black drape. Maybe only the writer of the article doesn't know it's normal?
Other than the quotes, I don't see what the big deal about it is. In my area, it is standard to wear the black drape thing. And the hairstyles are normal hairstyles that I could see of the girls wearing. If everyone's hair was straight and parted the same way, the fine. I think the biggest part of this story is the shared quote.

I have never heard of this drape thing. I am not super modest, but I know some people are and I would think some parents would have an issue with their precious daughter showing that much (gasp) shoulder!
