This poll was sparked by a conversation with a coworker, where she said how excited she is that it's been cool enough to break out the flannel sheets, and how much she loves them.
I freeze at night during the winter and flannel sheets and are one of the ways that we keep our electric bill down without over heating my husband. He can't sleep with a down comforter since he gets to hot so this is our compromise.
I prefer crisp cotton percale sheets year-round. We did just switch from our lightweight spring/summer down comforter to our heavier fall/winter one. And the heated mattress pad is back on, but it'll be a while until it's cold enough to use that (but it's still one of my favorite buys ever! Dual-zone heating!).
I just feel so much more comfortable in 100% cotton flannel sheets than I do in other sheets and since we can't afford the really high quality high thread count sheets flannel it is.
Heck to the no! Before H when I also had a smaller bed, I would sometimes put a flannal TOP sheet on, but never the bottom. PJs stick to them and you can't turn or move easily. I prefer cool cotton that lets you move as you please. Didn't bother buying any when I went to a larger bed, and hubby is a furnace half the time so we'd just die.
I've had them before, but I prefer regular cotton sheets. I'd rather stay warm by wearing sweats & socks and heavy blankets. But I will totally crank up the heat too.

I love them! We bust ours out during the winter because we both get cold. And since we're the only ones who see them, I don't really care what they looks like. Well, if they are silly winter themed ones like penguins or polar bears, then I care.
I turn into a furnace when I'm sleeping, so we just use crisp cotton sheets and a regular comforter. I like that down is so comfy, but I get way too hot for it to be practical. We don't even use heat during winter nights.
