I get it delivered all the time. I am not a sushi snob though. I can't remember the last time I ate sushi in an actual restaurant. I have never gotten sick.

We have no problem ordering take out or delivery from some of the better sushi restaurants near us but prefer to eat in because we tend to sit at the sushi bar and order omakase since it's such a better experience, which one obviously can't do with delivery.
I would only do it if you are a short walk or drive away from the sushi place.
I'd agree with this. I wouldn't do delivery. But we have a place around the corner from my house that we order from all the time. It's probably made 5-10 min before its in my belly.

we do take out and delivery all the time b/c we love to eat sushi but don't like to bring our kids, and don't like to pay for babysitters every time we want sushi

This is us as well. We can order, go pick it up, and be back home in like 15 minutes. We would still be waiting for our table if we ate there. It's super handy on weeknights when we have something else to do and don't want to spend a long time making or going out for dinner.
The only drawback is that I sometimes forget to ask for extra ginger and I would run out. I resolved that by buying a jar at Whole Foods, so now I'm all set. I have a ginger problem.
