We did the stingray excursion in the cayman islands in 2005ish and I absolutely loved it. It definitely took me a few minutes to "relax"...they take you out on a sandbar like in the middle of nowhere and you hop off the boat and you're in water up to your knees or whatever. And there are stingrays everywhere - and they're used to people and used to getting fed by the people so they're just all swimming around and in between your legs. I did not do the sting ray on the back thing but DH did...he said it felt like wet mushroom.

I "swam" with stingrays on vacation in the DR. They weren't nearly as friendly. I guess I'm just not popular with the stingray crowd- they just ignored me.

We did this too. I am terrified of pretty much all sea life, it took me a while to warm up to it but I eventually I did the back thing too. I made DH take a picture so I had proof. LOL
We did a sting ray swim in Tahiti and it was so much fun. I loved the sting rays, and they really wanted to get up in your business and get stroked. My H got a picture of me petting one while also being rammed by a second one from the side that I didn't see coming. I'm kind of jumping, but it was a happy surprise, not a freakout like the woman in the middle.
