I bought some jeans from Maurices since that is the only decent place around here and there was no tag on them (only the one on the top of the back), so the sales girl had to go grab another pair to ring them up. I was so ready to get home that I zoned out and didn't listen/look at how much they cost. I got home and saw that they were $92.63 with tax. HOLY CRAP! I didn't even really like the jeans. I just settled for them because I was so frustrated after trying on over 30 pairs at 2 stores and they were the only ones that even halfway fit. Can I still return them even though there is no tag?
I'm thinking about PIPing just to see if they look as bad as I feel like they do. I feel like they are gateway mom jeans.
I would say yes. I work in retail and we would have made up a tag for you with the sku on it for exactly this reason. If they give you trouble, mention that they should have done this for you.
We want you to be fully satisfied with every item that you purchase from www.maurices.com. If you are not satisfied with an item that you have purchased, you may return the item for a full refund of the purchase price. We gladly accept returns to www.maurices.com or any of our retail stores!
I have the receipt. I just didn't know if they would have a way to know that they are the same jeans as the ones on the receipt or if they wouldn't accept them since the price tag is gone.
Return them - they should definitely accept them. Being completely honest, they really aren't flattering.
That's what I was thinking. I really don't think these are worth that much $$. I was just so frustrated that I just wanted to get out of there, so I bought them. As soon as I walked out the door it was instant regret.
I think you can do better, especially for that money.
Are you in Canada or the US?
The US. I tried Kohls on my way home and all they had were legit mom jeans. Maurices was sort of a last ditch effort to have jeans to wear tomorrow on casual Friday.
Does anyone with a weird shaped lower body like mine know of a good place to buy jeans? I'm a size 12 most places. I absolutely loved my old 7's, but I can't justify spending that much on jeans when I'm trying to lose weight.
Def return. You can do better at Old Navy for a fifth of the price. I'm all for splurging on great clothes, but those aren't worth it.
I know how frustrating it can be to find jeans
I'm not sure if I was actually unhappy with all of the jeans I tried on or if I was unhappy with my body in everything. A shopping trip is usually all it takes for me to get back on the workout bandwagon. I don't think I'm HUGE, but there were 2 other women trying on the same size as me and I couldn't help but to wonder if I look as big as them.
Here I am in a normal pair of my low rise jeans from AE. Do these look bad? I sadly don't have an ass shot.
do you have a full length pic?
Not of me wearing jeans. I would take one now, but all of my jeans suck.
ETA: Well that picture is full length, but I would have to pretty much blur out the entire top half since it is super identifying to most people in my state.

I can't tell anything from this picture. They look a little like you gave up on life, but not necessarily unflattering. Will you always wear shirts this length and this loose? I think you should get a pair that fits you well regardless of what shirt you wear. The right pair of jeans won't give you a muffin top, that's why people are suggesting a higher waist.
Also, I hate the can I return this question. You can return anything you buy, right? I hear even crack comes with receipts.
OP I agree that jeans shouldn't give you a muffin top, so I'm glad you are returning them. Especially at that price! That's so expensive for Maurices! I haven't shopped there much since HS but I don't remember them being anywhere near that price back then!
The other jeans you posted look find though I agree you can't tell a whole lot from that picture.
The 2 pairs of jeans I'm currently rotating are from Loft and J Crew. I've had good luck at Gap, Banana Republic, sometimes Express. I'm your size or a little larger (I guess I'm a 14 most places now, still a 12 at Loft lol). I also don't find that heavy stitching or patterns on the pockets do much for me and my big ass, but that could just be me.

I think the jeans she posted are Silver brand, that's what they're going for these days. I remember the days when I could go in Maurices and get them for $55.
