Ok, I am already thinking about Black Friday. (Bad, I know, I just want a good deal). So what are looking to be getting? What do you think will be on sale?

I've been thinking about it all year, lol. We were OOT last year and I didn't get to shop much. Gifts and bigger household items, especially a carpet cleaner, are on my list.
I am thinking about getting my H a laptop for Christmas so I may be on the lookout for one of those. I feel like a lot of the laptops that go on sale on BF really aren't that great, though.
I'm always excited to see which kitchen gadgets are on sale, too.

We close on our house late Oct. so I might be looking for sales around the holidays for rugs and furnishings, but my sanity is worth more than black Friday sales!
I'm not a big Black Friday person, so I'm not sure how early people generally start planning for the holidays. But I did notice that several Christmas trees at one of the Macy's entrances at our mall were being assembled and decorated when I walked by tonight.

I haven't decided whether I'm going to do it or not. I'm ahead of my christmas shopping. I might stock up on household stuff. I need towels, a new blender, a new toaster, bedding, etc. if I go.
I always end up going to Dick's and getting all our running/work out clothes for 75% off. I have to work thus year so I won't be able to go anywhere else
LOL not even thinking that yet, but no I will not drive an hour and wait early ass in morning to stores where people are shoving, hitting each other for some stupid TV. Cyber monday if I need anything..most of the time we buy crap we would not really need anyway.
I feel like Black Friday is not worth it anymore. Stores used to do freebies or special coupons just for walking in the door. Now I can usually find better deals online.
My bff and I used to go just for fun. Now I might go to one or two stores if there is something I really want, but I just go a little later. Target usually has a couple of things I want and I have even gone in the afternoon and they still had plenty of stock.
I will probably browse the ads and if anything jumps out at me I might go. DS is typically up at 5 anyway so I would probably leave the kids with DH and could still head out early and hit a couple of stores.
I avoid Walmart, Best Buy and Old Navy though. They are always insane. I have done them in the past and it was not worth it.

I know there have been some incidents in the news, but I always found people to be super friendly on Black Friday. But, I do avoid Walmart like I said in my other post. I have even had people tell me about other deals, share coupons, and stuff like that while waiting in line.
I am almost done shopping. I just need to get stuff for DH and I wait on that bc he buys himself too much stuff. We sleep in and then go with friends to some little boutique stores. Lots of fun, cute and different stuff and I love supporting the independent business.
I'm sure the same stuff will be on sale as in prior years.
I'm too picky to do well on Black Friday. If I want a new TV, for example, I want to do research and pick the one that is best for our needs and has great reviews -- not just the one that happened to be super cheap at Walmart that day.
Nowadays, aren't some of the electronics sold on Black Friday made specially for Black Friday?
I do 90% of my black Friday shopping from my couch on thanksgiving. Most of it is available online to order, except the door busters, and I'm usually not in the market for those. Mostly I'm just restocking the housewares and such.
I have never Black Friday'd ever. I'm kind of open to checking it out this year though. Tips for a newb?
Don't ever stand behind doors.
Don't bring kids.
Check for things like "limited quantities available" on items in the sales papers, especially electronic things, like laptops, and ipods. They may only have a few, like 5, of those items there.
Whatever is the most important item on your list is the store you should start at, regardless of opening time.
I've been thinking of a few things I'd like to look for - not gifts, but I usually get a good deal on new pillows or other bedding. We need a new duvet. We've also been looking for a new TV - we might pop on one that weekend. Finally, looking for more dishes from our wedding china - I want to see if anyone has items on sale. I secretly want holiday china, too...

My laptop just died so I'm looking for a new one. This last laptop was a black friday deal from 2010(the laptop died due to my dropping it :/). Other than that I just look at the ads and if anything pops out, I'll get it.
I think working at Target for two years permanently affected my brain where I kinda enjoy the craziness of Black Friday. lol
I'm actually going to stalk the Babies R' Us ad; hoping that the dresser that matches DS's crib will be on sale and I'll happily pack up the changing table into the attic and replace with said dresser. The only reason we have the table to begin with is because when I bought the crib with the table it was a better price than if I had bought the crib alone. Crazycakes.
