I'm curious, in an average month how many mornings do you feel completely NOT well-rested? And what do you attribute it to?
Me: I'd say about 50%. No kids to blame, no stress to blame. I'm blaming my age, going off birth control & the resulting hormonal roller coaster. Also my love of wine probably doesn't help.
It used to be higher, but my sleeping pills help a lot, so maybe 20%. When I do wake up feeling not well rested, it is usually because I had too much caffiene the night before, and stress.
Pretty much all the time. It doesn't matter how much sleep I get.
The only halfway recent time I can remember actually feeling well rested was about 6 weeks ago. We went out drinking the night before. Got home around 1am. I fell asleep within 30 minutes. Woke up at 5:30am (which is earlier than I ever wake up!) and felt great. I got up and started cleaning the house. I felt great all day. It was amazing. It seems like heavily drinking is the only thing that makes me actually feel well rested in the morning.

I never feel well rested. Not even when I was a child. I don't know why. I wake up all through the night. I've had a sleep study, tried Ambien and over the counter sleep aids, nothing seems to help.
Steph, I agree with you. Sometimes I wake up in the morning knowing that I only woke up two or three times during the night and feeling better than normal, and it's usually due to alcohol.
I can't remember the last time I woke up feeling actually rested. No kids or pets or medical reason for it, as far as I can tell, I'm just tired all the freaking time.
It's frustrating. I work out, eat well, and get enough sleep.
