After Plummy's question of crochet the other day, I started this last night.
I am determined to actually turn this into a blanket, I tend to give up after a while. But so far I like it.
Don't mind the colors, they aren't the most fantastic. I just used whatever yarn I had in my stash at this house. (All my yarn is still in my old bedroom at my parents house)
I know granny squares are supposed to be smaller squares stitched together but that looked like too much work. And I don't have an actual pattern of colored yarn I'm using.
I couldn't get the hang of crochet. I like how it's more airy and technically easier for round things, but I kept mixing up the right and wrong side.
As in, the right and wrong side of your work? Or the right and wrong side of where your yarn goes over your hook?
I know, for me, knitting is hell. I cannot do two needles without picking up each stitch of yarn with my fingers. And that gets tiresome after a while.
Up until 4 months ago, the most I could do with crocheting was single stitching a straight line. And even then "straight" was debatable. Then one night I decided to just start Googling different stitches and I tried a few and can now make interesting items instead of not straight, straight lines.
Like this!
Granted, if I set my work down for any measurable amount of time, I will forget how to to do the stitch. lol. (ETA: I'd have to look up again how to do stars)
