Is it me or my hair? (re: Deva products)

I've been trying some of the Deva products based on raves I've seen here, but they just don't seem to be working for me. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or if the products just don't work on my hair. Previously, I was using Alterna Hemp (sulfate free) shampoo and conditioner, and then using TIGI Curlesque. My curls held together nicely, but there just wasn't as much body as I wanted, so I tried the switch.

Now I'm using No-poo and the conditioner, followed by the Set it Free mist, then the AnGel light hold gel. Then I diffuse it part way, but leave it damp. Sometimes I put more of the Set it Free mist on there after I dry it.

I feel like my hair is so dry when I'm in the shower now...and it feels rough almost, even after the conditioner. The curls hold ok, but they seem fluffier than they used to, and not in a good way. And I have a TON of little frizzy wispy pieces all over the place on the top of my head.

So, am I doing something wrong? Do I just need to give it more time? Do these products just not work with my hair texture?

Thanks Carrots! I'll try to get a different conditioner and just slather it on and see if that helps. The Alterna that I was using I think has been discontinued...it was the Hemp Organics line and I believe it was sulfate free. Regardless, I'm not using it anymore, so I'll plug along with the Deva and see if I can get somewhere with it. I'll get some of the mouse and add that in to the game and see if it helps. Thanks!
