The past couple of days I have noticed several people wearing these socks - the ones that I guess are not supposed to show if you wear flats, but they do. Um, this is not attractive. Are people really wearing these and I just never noticed before?
I do this at work. I cant wear shoes all day without socks, but in summer, if I wear a skirt, I would look ridiculous in nylons. I stand all day. However, I dont care what I look like t work.
I am guilty of this sometimes. I know they show occasionally, but I set aside my vanity to prevent blisters. I do try to wear nude colored to blend in... ish. Some shoes just blister too badly to go without socks.
+1. Especially if I'm wearing new shoes that I need to break in.

They are buying the wrong ones if they're showing. I never wear flats without socks, but they very rarely show. If they do, I readjust them. It took trying multiple brands before finding some that work. I don't know how anyone wears flats without socks. My feet would be sweaty, smelly, and covered in blisters.
I notice them on tourists trying to looks nice in the city.
Along with their khaki shorts & fanny packs. I swear 75% of NYC tourists I see look like this. In my experience, footsies were popular in the 90s & we now know better. They almost always show and it’s not attractive.

I will admit that cheap flats make my feet stinky, but real leather ones do not. I don't usually get blisters, either, unless the shoes don't really fit well. I guess I am just lucky and never knew this was a thing! I will try not to judge harshly - but the lady across the hall from me who wore bright orange socks under gray shoes yesterday is still getting the side eye.

Add me to this list. I hate that it happens, but I can't wear flats without socks. The shoes would stink since I am also like NQB and have a stinky foot problem.
What really gets me is because I am brown the "flesh" or "nude" is never, ever right for me.
The Vans socks I posted work for sneakers or TOMS. I like them because they are thick. But of course you can't wear them with dress flats - that's when you need the nylon ones. Those never stay on though!

I occasionally wear the ones like raangoli posted with flats, especially if I am going to be doing a lot of walking. It does bug me when they show though, which is why I don't wear them all the time.

I purchased some with the hopes that they would solve my blister/sweaty feet issue at work but they show over the sides of my cute flats so I don't wear them. Baby powder is a good idea, thanks for sharing ESW I'll have to try that!
