Or, at least, according to the folks that do the medical check for overseas screening, they think I'm healthy enough to accompany DH on an overseas assignment.
He should be receiving orders soon, and this was one source of stress. We know there are spots for families to accompany the soldiers on this assignment, but I've had to see a few specialists for things this year, and I was worried it might ruin my chances of joining DH on the assignment.
The paperwork still needs to be finalized for me, but the lady who interviewed me today flat out said that she didn't see anything that would keep them from approving my addition to DH's orders. She even said that the approval should be finalized by the time DH's orders are issued to him, so it will make life a little simpler for him (if the approval came after he received his orders, he'd have to jump thru hoops to get his orders amended to include me...).
Chances look darn good that I'll be in Asia next year! Holy crap, this is getting real!
Nice! I was hoping when I opened the thread it was about you getting answers from the doctor. Haven't you had to see quite a few recently about weight loss?

Yeah, still no answer on the inability to lose weight, and I'm basically at a dead end. The endocrinologist has done pretty much every test she can, and they all show up clear. She's of the opinion that I have a metabolic syndrome which basically makes it damn near impossible to lose weight, and there is nothing I can do about it except to continue my efforts to lose weight (track every bite I eat, work out every day, etc) so that I don't gain weight and end up with Type 2 diabetes.
Yeah, not terribly thrilled with that. Not sure what to make of it, either. Somehow it just seems really fucked up that I was able to lose 70 lbs a couple years ago, but apparently now I have a "metabolic syndrome" that makes it impossible for me to lose weight. Does not compute, and the Endo can't explain why I could lose weight before and not now.
So, um. Yeah. Still have fatigue, although it might have reduced a bit since going off BCP (needed to so that the tests the endo wanted done could be done). Still can't lose weight. Not sure what I'm going to about it now that I've basically exhausted the medical possibilities. I guess I can try to do more weight lifting?
