Yuck. The first snowfall of the season always makes me a little depressed... I don't know why, we enjoy winter activities. Anyone else's feel this way too?
I knew it was supposed to snow today but I was still surprised when i looked outside.
I think my unhappiness with it stems from growing up in the far north where there was snow on the ground October through April. Winters here are not that bad. The snow will melt.
I would like one snow on Christmas Eve. I am really not looking forward to snow bc it's already unseasonably cold and it's supposed to be a bad winter.
Can't even imagine snow right now... It was 90 ish yestrday. I do sometimes think a Christmas snow would be cool. Snow never happens here, but of it did, early October is waayy early.

I love the first snow. When I skiied in college, we'd always been ready to get to the golf course to ski on the first snow. I miss living in an area that gets a lot
Are you in Montana? I heard at least parts of Montana were go get 4" today.
I'm in Montana, and in the parts supposed to get 4" today! I would normally be horrified about snow on October 3, but hopefully the moisture will help out out the wildfires that we've been struggling with all summer. At one point smoke was so bad they were canceling high school football games because of air quality issues. :-(
It's supposed to be cold for a few days, then we'll get our Indian Summer with highs in the. 60's until mid-November.

I love snow but always get bummed out when we get it in October. Fall is my favorite season so snow this early makes me feel like I got short-changed on enjoying it.
Our weather is crazy right now. Today it's supposed to reach 79 and then tomorrow it's supposed to be in the upper 50's. We've also had a lot of rain I want cool, sunny fall days damnit!
I love the first snow....when it arrives in December. Early October snow would bum me out too. Today is Walk to School Day and we had great weather (upper 60s this AM) thank goodness.

My kids were elated to walk to school wearing their snow suits today
As much as I hate snow, I know we need this winter to have more snow then last years. Lots of fields, farming areas were SOL. The bugs were the worst they have ever been. There is already hay shortages now.
I cannot wait for the first snow. But I am a winter girl transplanted much too far south for my taste.
Your screen name reminds me of the only thing I really miss about living up north. Aurora borealis.
Yes - I miss the aurora, too (and that was my screen name motivation), but I miss a lot more than just that. If I were never in temperatures above 80 deg again in my life I'd be happy. I realize this is not normal.
