Implications of GMAC filing for bankruptcy?

They hold our mortgage.

None of the paperwork we've received has indicated that we'll need to do anything and when DH called them yesterday the automated message said that mortgagees need not do anything.

But it's still sort of unsettling.

We did have them up until last month- we paid off our mortgage with them. . . By refiing with another bank
We did receive a letter a few months ago saying "pay your mortgage still, nothi has changed".
That's all I can offer.

Same boat here. It's especially unsettling when you get copies of legal documents that you don't understand.

Ours was with them, we got tired of the notices so we did a refi (FHA streamline) in August.

We bought in May our mortgage was with them and last month it switched to another bank. They are holding some mortgages and selling others.

Washington Mutual went bankrupt when they held our mortgage - there was no service interruption, we made one or two more payments as usual, I think, then Chase bought them out and serviced our loan.
