I just received a connection request on LinkedIn, and the name didn't sound familiar so I peaked at their profile. They are a friend of a friend, but what really made me go WTF was the fact that they listed their SAT scores on their profile.
Scores were a 790 Math and 710 Verbal which are very good, but seriously? WTF?!
As in investment banking? That's a profession where SAT scores can come up in interviews (and maybe on applications) too, so maybe that's why? I eyeroll-worthy i n that case though.
I forget where, but I know that I applied for an in-house position once that asked for SAT scores (even for lawyers).
If it's investment banking, the recent grads are always asked for SAT scores. However, this person is the same age as me and is old enough to remove that stupid shit. I would be embarrassed if I were this person, actually.
Employers care about SAT scores 10 years later? Really? I find this very odd.
I had an interview last year that asked my SAT scores. I took them 14 years ago. I was not expecting it and gave an approximate because I don't remember the exact numbers anymore. It was my first clue that the job I was interviewing for might not be for me.
Random. I have a connection who lists that they were accepted at Yale and Harvard. But they didn't go there. They graduated from college in the 1990s. And it was a state school (not that there's anything wrong with that).
