H, S and myself were in a somewhat serious car wreck 2 months ago. An ambulance came out, checked us out and we decided to have H go to the hospital and get his head checked. The 3 of us rode in the ambulance to the hospital since the vehicle was totaled. Our auto insurance has now received bills for the 1 ambulance ride under each of our names. The thought it was 3 ambulances and paid out the contract rate for each. The ambulance has now submitted the charges to our health insurance. When I called them about it, they first said they don't have contract rates and bill for each person because of that. When I pointed out that they had billed both insurances, they claimed it was because our first insurance paid the contract rate and our "secondary" would pay the difference. Yet they billed both for the full amount and contradicted themselves about contract rates. I've talked to all 3 parties involved and both insurances agree it doesn't sound right but ambulance is holdiong strong.
Honestly, at this point, if you have reported the to both insurance companies and they are aware of what's going on, there isn't much more you can do. Let the insurance company deal with the ambulance company.

I agree. I did my part but feel like more insurance payouts raise costs, although this is small fish. Thanks; we are all great now. It was just scary at the time.
