Jeux de Peau by Serge Lutens. It's new to me, but I think it's been out for about a year. OMG I want to bathe in this stuff. I have been using a sample from Lucky Scent for a few days and just ordered a full bottle. It is unlike any scent I have ever smelled. It is so unusual, and just heavenly. You have to like gourmand fragrances, though.
At first it smells like caramelized, buttered bread with a bit of sandalwood in the background, which keeps it from being weird and smelling like something you want to eat. As it's drying down, it smells like sandalwood with an amazing buttery sweetness in the background. OMG. I can't stop smelling myself.
I also bought another Serge Lutens fragrance, Un Bois Vanille, and bought a full bottle unsniffed. It is supposed to smell like a very grown up vanilla, with caramelized and smokey notes. One reviewer said it smells like vanilla with marshmallows roasting over an open fire.
Also, make sure you come to DC in the spring! Lunch and Sephora GTG baby!!!! Or Ulta so you can show me some cheap, awesome stuff to buy
LOL, I'm all about NYX! I love that stuff.
I found both on ebay for much cheaper - around $80 a bottle. There are some travel sizes on ebay for around $20ish if you want to try a small amount. I've also found Serge Lutens fragrances on Overstock for around $95.
You can order a Jeux de Peau sample from Lucky Scent for I think $3, which is what I did.
When I first put it on, the scent reminds me of buttered popcorn jelly bellies. It is a similar buttered sweet smell. That lasts for just a few minutes and the sweet buttery smell fades into the background but is definitely still there but no longer smells like the jelly bean.
It looks like the NOLA GTG is going to be in the spring, so I actually may come up in Jan or Feb. I'll post a new thread and see if anyone else would be interested. It would be so fun to meet you both!
How'd you find this site? I'm looking through it amazed at the huge selection of perfumes I've never seen or heard of before. How on earth would you go about picking out a scent? Lol....love that they have samples. I may have to order some! ;-)

Well, I wanted to find an amazing, grown up gourmand perfume, and I started out googling, which lead me to a lot of perfume reviews. I noticed that a lot of bloggers mentioned Lucky Scent and ordering samples there. I went to the Lucky Scent site, and you can narrow it down by category, so I browsed their gourmand fragrances. Then I read reviews of ones that sounded interesting, and ordered about 8 samples. There were a few that I really wanted to try but samples weren't offered. I spent waaayyyyy too much time on this, lol.
I fell in love with two of the samples - the Jeux de Peau and this one. I think I'm going to get this one, too. If you like the scent of Gingerbread, you have to get a sample of this. OMG it's delicious.
Ha! I've been reading for at least an hour and now have 9 samples in my cart. I saw both of those already - I'll go ahead and add the 'gingerbread' sample, lol! ;-)
Edited to add: Okay, $44 later, I have 10 samples headed my way. We'll see how it goes!
