I am interviewing a local young lady from care.com to clean and cat sit for us in the future. My reservation is that she is 19. She comes with references (she works at the Humane Society down the road, also at our local library) and is going to vet tech school. Our other housekeepers were 30 and 45, so I guess it is just what I am used to as thinking of responsible?
I don't know why I have this age aversion, but it has been bugging me all day. I was cleaning houses for neighbors and friends at 17, working 2 other jobs and going to college. I really need to be fair and see how I feel at the interview in a little while. Would this bug you or am I just being crazy?
I guess I just needed to type it out to realize I am being weird. We are very new to this area and don't know anyone local to ask to refer a reliable house cleaner. That is how I found the last two ladies we had, who were wonderful. I had a service do a move-in clean, but wasn't overly thrilled with them. I'd rather have a single person now that our stuff is here.
