I'm all for fan support--I'm a rabid Oregon Ducks football fan & their games are full of screaming lunatics, but Atlanta's caterwauling makes me stabby.

Ya it was a bullshit call which happened right around the time Flexie posted so it probably was in response to the call. I would love for the Braves to win and continue on to the playoffs but it looks doubtful. ugh.

The call could go either way really. That call's more or less based on the umpire's perspective. The short stop was sitting under it and had to move out of the way NOT to get it. It may have been in the outfield, but it was still being fielded by the middle infield.
Definitely a little late to make the call, but if the umpire realized late that the short stop was the one going for it, I can see it.
Oh well, making up for the time-out that got the Braves 2 runs
It was a bullshit call, clearly. If the call had been made immediately, maybe I'd feel differently. Instead it was made when it was obvious that the ball was going to drop.
Then again, I think that this whole 1 Game Playoff is total bullshit. The Braves finished what, TEN GAMES, ahead of the Cards? This was a bad move by the MLB.
I don't expect the call to get overturned under protest, but it was a shitty, shitty call.
Me toooooooooo. And I'm married to one. Baseball season is a bad, bad time in our home.
I'm as bad as my h. He took the 2011 world series dvds to the hospital in March when o was born...we watched them all. The nurses were when they came in to check on us.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE baseball. But I'm a Phils fan.
I get ya. If the Tigers and the Cards meet again in the World Series, H and I might not be on speaking terms.
