I took my iphone to a local place that fixed iphones and they did some magic drying and got it working again after rice failed.
DH's blackberry sat in rice for several days and didn't work. He turned it in to his boss and asked for a replacement (the screen is also shattered, which is annoying). It started working 3 days later and boss gave it back to DH. He was really annoyed b/c he wants a new work phone.
This is the place I used: www.iphoneaid.com/home Its here in Baltimore, so I just dropped off and picked up, but they do mail service, too. It was way cheaper than the apple repair prices.

I have an iPhone, and I've done the bag of rice thing twice, with success. Take the battery out, put the phone in a ziplock bag of rice, leave it for three days. Avoid the temptation to take it out and turn it on. Yeah, iPhones have a moisture sensor that voids the warranty if it turns blue or whatever.
Hopefully you have resolved this but DO NOT press any buttons of anything electronic gets wet. Just let it dry and hopefully it will be ok. It is the button pushing while it is still wet that usually kills it.
