I am sick of this month. Other than my birthday and Mother's Day, it's been nothing but bad news. My coworker died. A family friend died the same day. Now we just got the news yesterday that Husband Malibu's grandma was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. From the little we were told (and much Googling on Husband Malibu's part), it sounds like once they find it, it's too late. So more than anything, it sounds like she's been handed a death sentence. I have seen my H cry exactly three times since we hae been together (almost a decade), and the third time was last night while sittig in the dark on Toddler Malibu's rocking chair.

I'm so sorry Malibu. The odds for pancreatic cancer aren't good, how sad for you and YH. I seriously teared up at your description of him sitting on the rocking chair crying in the dark.
Total lurker here - but I hope you'll read my response anyway! I do a ton of volunteer work revolving around pancreatic cancer as I lost my father to the disease 5 years ago. I'm so sorry your family is going through this, I know what it is like. Please feel free to reach out if you need any information or someone to talk to.
Please read on with the knowledge that I'm suggesting resources we didn't have when my dad was sick, and I regret that we didn't know about them then. It might not have changed the outcome, but it would have changed how I dealt with things. I do not benefit at all from the info provided below, I'm just a volunteer who wants to be sure that others have the info we never got until it was too late.
If you (or he) are interested in more information, www.pancan.org has all the updated stats and fact and lots of resources.
There is one resource your husband's family should really look into. It's call Patient and Liason Servinces (PALS) and it's free. It is an amazing resource, and they will treat you like family, I promise.
"Patient and Liaison Services (PALS) Program at 877-272-6226 or email us at pals@pancan.org. We will provide no-cost comprehensive disease information, as well as information on managing pain, diet and nutrition, clinical trials and so much more" (from http://www.pancan.org).
