I also have the paragard. I had it before J, and I had a couple of heavy days each month, but it was comparable to what my period was before I started BCPs. Things are totally whack now.
Besides the heavy periods, it hasn't made a difference. The cramping isn't any different than what it was before. I was just surprised becaause I was on Yaz for 3 years before that and it made my periods totally stop- like I wouldnt bleed even when I took the white pills- so I was just surprised.
Thyroid issues can cause Energizer periods that go on and one. And they're common after pregnancy. The period before I got dx'd with hypothyroidism was 35 days long. A little Synthroid and all is right in my world.
It is totally the paragard, I have been dealing with bloodbaths too. Good news, my last period, which was after two years of paragard in, was NORMAL. Like 4 days and containable.

More than anything, it scared me. When I saw how much blood there was I thought there was something very wrong. It looked like I had murdered someone.

Normal and 4 day long periods aren't ever in the same sentence in my world. I'd kill for 4 day long periods. I've never had less than 6-7 days and that's been just in the last 3 years. Before that they were 7-10 days. /jealous
