Hello all, I am a fellow lurker and wanted to introduce myself. I just moved to Boston in June. I am originally from Georgia, but finally got everything in my life in order so I could move. I mainly lurk on the MM board and ML and here, but wanted to slowly introduce myself to you guys first.
I love Boston! I would come and visit every Sept for the last few years and I fell in love like I knew I would. It just took me getting a few things in order so I could make the move. But I am excited to try out as many cafes and restaurants as I can. Everything back in Georgia is a chain. Blech. I love the big city, little town feel as well. Very walkable which is ideal because I was sick of driving 45 minutes to everything. We will see how I am during the winter! Ha ha. But I am optimistic. ;-)
I work from my home and I am a reporting analyst. It's a number crunching, spreadsheet type of job and I have a finance background. It's pretty boring, actually. But working from home is a perk I like. It's with the company I worked for in Ga.
I am divorced/single.
I was on the knot in 2006-2007. Moved to the nest afterwards and lurked there for a while. I took a break for a year or so as I was busy working two jobs and getting my life back in order after the big D. I came back to the nest and noticed you guys had moved here and have been lurking ever since.
I love the fact that you guys talk about all the great places to eat. I save most of your suggestions so when in doubt, I can just look at what you all posted.
No, I use to be an investment analyst when I first started out, but now the nature of the company I work for my position is more of reporting on staffing quotas and billing. I was just moved to this position in August. I would like to get back into the more financial aspect soon, as this is not really something I enjoy. But, the job market is scary right now! So, we will see.
